About Elizabeth

I have been both personal training and teaching yoga for over 10 years.

I fell in love with the idea that exercise is a form of medicine. I fell in love with yoga as it filled the void that remained as I transitioned from competitive figure skating to academia. I dove deeper to learn how yoga and exercise has the power to change how people feel about what their bodies are capable of.

I continued along this new path to New York City, where I attended graduate school at Columbia and received a Master's in Public Health in Health Promotion, and studied yoga asana and philosophy. I continue to deepen my awareness in all of these fields through reading, attending workshops, and forming bonds with others who challenge me to learn more, including co-authoring Yoga, Food, and Mood: 30 Days to a More Mindful You, and co-founding Yoga on the Fly.

My training philosophy

Exercise is medicine, and I'm so delighted to help people heal themselves of whatever ailments they might feel. Everyone has a different story that leads them to a personal trainer, and I'm so honored to help people learn more about what their bodies are capable of doing. Every Body is different. Whether you're training for a marathon, looking to feel better, are a division one athlete, or just want to mix things up, you are allowed to work with a personal trainer without judgement! Sometimes you just need a little push or change in direction.

Elizabeth is one of the most well rounded trainers I've worked with. She is always on time, has workouts planned that challenge me but also work with my goals and capabilities. She also stays very focused and keeps me going throughout the sessions. Highly recommend her as a serious trainer!

Elizabeth has changed my life. I am 49 years old with some extra pounds. My Dr. recommended I start a workout routine to have a healthier life style. I was a bit depressed and had leg and hip pain. I started training with Elizabeth using movement, stretches and yoga. I no longer have hips and legs pain and my outlook on life is dramatically different. I feel rejuvenated, flexible and very happy with myself. I have lost a couple pounds and feel very strong. We train every morning and it is such a pleasure to have a nice and patient person helping me with my goals. I feel energized and wonderful after a workout and yoga section. I am ready to face the world. With Elizabeth it is not just about the work out. It is about my physical and mental well-being.

I really enjoyed working with Elizabeth. She was patient and developed fun and challenging routines that jump started my weight loss goals and put me on the path to regular exercise.

Elizabeth was a great trainer and I highly recommend her. We meet twice a week and I definitely noticed change in my measurements. She focuses a lot on using body weight to train rather than the machines which is great!

She is encouraging personal trainer. Always listening and improving my performance. Would highly recommend her!
