About Shane

I am a CPT with 6 years of experience working at a boutique personal training gym in NYC, Maik Wiedenbach Personal Training, where I specialized in building muscle and improving body composition. During that time, I obtained my MSc ins Sport Science while working full-time. I aim to bring an evidence-based and analytical approach to my training methods.

I try to deal with each client holistically and empathetically. Having previous experience working in the mental health field, I know that dealing with the psychological barriers to fitness is often the most important step.

I have trained and competed in martial arts, such as TaeKwon-Do, BJJ, and MMA. I supplemented my training throughout with strength & conditioning, and have been obsessed with getting bigger and stronger for years. For more experienced individuals, I can bring a new level of organization and challenge to your fitness program.

Shane is an incredible trainer and friend!!!! I've trained with him for over 3 years, and I have nothing but positive things to say. He completely changed my life. Top-line stats: I went from 195lbs and 24% body fat to 185lbs 12% body fat. I feel so much better. I have more energy, etc, etc. Genuinely all of the cliche things people say about getting into shape Shane brought to fruition for me. The thing I like about Shane is that he's incredibly knowledgeable, but he met me where I was when I started out. He's qualified to train the most advanced athletes, but he's also patient with beginners. I tried a couple other trainers that didn't really understand what I was looking for until I eventually found Shane. As I've gotten more and more into exercise I've really come to appreciate the depth of his expertise. It turns out having degrees in sports science actually pays dividends lol Fair warning! Shane is Irish and has as the Irish would say the "gift of the gab."
