About CJ
I was never very active growing up; I was the nerdy kid who prioritized homework and video games over sports and running around outside. As an adult, I tried your typical gym and found it both intimidating and boring. In 2018, I discovered high-intensity interval training and now I can't imagine my life without fitness. In my workouts, I love deadlifts, handstand push-ups, or anything core-focused. I might whine a little if you tell me to do some farmer carries, but even that I kind of enjoy.
As a trainer, I aim to provide a space for those who don't feel comfortable in your traditional fitness center. Gyms can be intimidating, no doubt about it, especially for those of us who are diagnosed female at birth or are queer, trans, or non-binary. I want to help you reach your fitness goals, be it for weight gain, loss, toning, or strengthening. I specialize in those new to fitness, but welcome more advanced athletes as well.
My favorite exercise
I love deadlifts, handstand push-ups, or anything core-focused.
My training philosophy
I have a compassion-based approach to my training. I am more concerned with creating a life-long change than I am getting "fit for summer."

I've been coaching group HIIT classes since 2019 and got my personal training certification in 2020.

Training Areas Served
Personable and knowledgeable! CJ is not the kind of trainer who's going to give you crazy ultimatums about nutrition, shame you for your lack of ability or your weight, or set you grueling exercise regimens that are going to be tough to stick to long term. Instead, they are supportive, thoughtful in their questions, and careful to navigate the minefield around comfort in one's own body, all while being a funny and cheerful and human. After striking out with trainers who simply made me feel like a paycheck or a failure, CJ carefully evaluated and is working with me around a plethora of injuries that make things difficult and necessitate working with a trainer. I have no question that CJ will keep my safety and long term goals in mind, and I look forward to working with them in the future.
