Before any personal trainer loads you up with weights to strength train, your body must be prepared to work towards functional performance that allows correct form using only body weight. Putting an extra load on without an awareness of your muscle imbalances will only cement the dysfunctional movement.

I've been working with Daniel for many years. He is knowledgeable and experienced, a thinking man's trainer! I've been having pain in my back just above my right hip for over a year. It really acted up when I was cleaning the house or cooking dinner. Standing for a period of time was awful. Now that I've been seeing Dan Lew, my back is getting better, finally. When I did a side plank, he saw that I was unable to get into the correct position He then would have me do a very peculiar stretch. The stretch would then get a certain muscle to move and then my plank would be correct. I have tried other trainers but no one was as knowledgeable about muscles and their movement as Dan Thanks Dan Lew for your help.

Training with Dan over the past few years has made a huge difference in my well- being. I started with him after cervical spine surgery rehab. He picked up where the physical therapist left off and began my serious rehab and toning all over. I'm fine and fell great. His mantras are clear because he closely watches every exercise and stretch I do. He focuses on position and breathing pointing out why both are essential not only with weights and aerobics but while stretching. I continue to learn exercise variations for nearly every muscle which helps to keep it interesting. The workouts with him are really worth my time. I've been retired for 5 years but never really worked out until I started working with Dan. My doctor said to work on strength and flexibility, and that's exactly what Dan does. I especially appreciate the stretching we do and how he gears it to the areas needing work. A long-developing hip problem sent me to the doctor and then a physical therapist. I mentioned how Dan was approaching the problem, and he said that was exactly correct - not intuitive, but based on an understanding of how the hips work. He said to stay with that trainer! Dan continually studies how the body works and what exercises work best for specific problems.
I worked out with Daniel Lew, personal trainer for eight months. I have osteoporosis and because of my work with Daniel I went up 5% in Bone Mass Density test in one year. I started meeting with Daniel as a way to introduce myself to working at the gym and to develop proper forms. During this time, he has demonstrated to me an immense amount of knowledge about the workings of the body and its capabilities. In terms of the actual sessions, Daniel and I focused on the core, strength, and some cardio. For each of these, he would not hesitate to show the best stretch to remove tightness in an area or to improve my form. And, to top it all off, he's incredibly nice and pretty funny.
