About Marlee

Hi, my name is Marlee, I’m an ACSM certified exercise physiologist with a Bachelor of Science in Fitness Wellness. My focus is building personalized exercise programs that give clients a clear path towards their goals. I am passionate about how the mind and body work together, and how exercise can be used as a tool to improve the health of both. My interest in fitness started when I was a freshman in high school running cross country. Long distance running taught me a lot about pushing my own limits, helped me build confidence, and provided me a great deal of relief from difficult emotions. My experience with this sport sparked my interest in how exercise infuences overall wellbeing and lead me to pursue an education in fitness/wellness. As I studied physiology, I discovered how different training styles can all support each other. For example, strength training helped support injury prevention in my running, and yoga helped improve my alignment while lifting. To me fitness is all about how exercise can help you feel great in your body, in day-to-day life and while participating in the activities you love.

My favorite client story

One of my clients who loves to ski was struggling with knee pain as he aged and had recently given up skiing. After a year of training with me, working on functional strength and stability he was able to safely get back to skiing!

Marlee is the most knowledgeable, capable trainer with whom I’ve had personal experience. I’m in my 60’s and a competitive ballroom dancer, I have back & knee issues, and as a result of working with Marlee (Facetime workouts, even when I’m in Paris or Maui!! She’s got it down) I am now in better shape than in my entire life, both from a physical conditioning standpoint as well as endurance, cardio and weight management (lost 3 waist inches and 20 lbs so far). And she does this with very effective modifications to address my ‘issues’. As a result my knees can now support deeper squats than I’ve ever been able to do in the past. In addition, as a result of the yoga she incorporates in one training day, my balance issues have been significantly improved. Recently came down with Covid and her modified workouts and yoga were instrumental in my recovery. Very highly recommended.”

I have worked with Marlee for over five years. Needless to say, I enjoy her personality, her workouts, and love that she comes to the house! She is extremely reliable and quite flexible, which helps with a busy schedule. Marlee keeps me moving and is always adjusting the workout to my needs (which she knows better than I do!). Thanks, Marlee!

I have had a few personal trainers over the past 3 years. Marlee is an excellent trainer for the over-55 group, because she really pays attention to personal limitations, recent muscle issues, etc. She also pushes you to "keep making forward progress" without creating any new problems. Marlee is extremely professional, on time and personalizes your training to work with your schedule - she is flexible when necessary. And - she has a wonderful sense of humor!
