About Andrew

I am a NASM Certified Personal Trainer with a B.S. in Natural Science from Christian Brothers University. My involvement in fitness and health has evolved over the years. Lifting weights and endurance training has truly changed my life for the better in so many ways. I would like to credit my discipline, mental strength, patience, and professional growth to fitness. The more I worked directly with clients the more I realized how much of a direct impact fitness can have on each person's life. Everyone has different goals. Whether your goal is to be more comfortable and prepared this upcoming ski season, to look better and feel more confident, to get stronger, or to be more active with your grandkids... you can do it with the right focus and a proper training plan suited for you.

Our first session will include discussing your goals, assessing your movements, and reviewing your current routines. I will run you through a quick Functional Movement Screening (FMS Test) to see how you handle certain movements. After going through these assessments and receiving your feedback, I will build out a plan for you to follow moving forward that addresses any movement concerns and pushes you in the direction of your goals. I will continually track your progress on my iPad spreadsheets to ensure that we remain on task and focused on the goal each session. I also offer complimentary InBody scan opportunities twice a month for all my clients. I recommend getting an InBody every four weeks to track your progress. InBody scans are an accurate and quick way to get a full body analysis. Some of the items that are measured include lean muscle mass, body fat percentage & distribution, segmentation, water mass, and BMI. I record these results for each client on my iPad so that you can see the evolution of these indicators over time.

Once we get started, I can provide travel workouts, general nutritional guidance, or self workouts as needed.I can't make you commit, but if you do I won't let you fail. Let's get to work and make those goals a reality!

My favorite client story

As a trainer you get to meet and work with a large group of people, all with different goals. My favorite client story is one that came by surprise. A client who originally had come to me to help him work on his rotational strength for golf and get rid of his rotator cuff pain (age range 60-70). After three months working with him, he told me one morning that his cardiologist told him he could stop taking his blood pressure medicine because it had moved back into a healthy range. It was just a cool moment early in my personal training journey to see true change in someone who had committed themselves to their goal.

My favorite exercise

Weighted pull-ups. I didn't have any proper gym equipment when I was younger, so I started with what I had access to. Simple exercises can be the most efficient and pull-ups have always been at my foundation.

My favorite quote

"Society grows great when old men plant trees, the shade of which they know they will never sit in." - After Life

My training philosophy

Train smart and train your goal. Specificity when you are training can make a huge difference in the progress you make towards your own individual goals.

My training experience

My training experience began with weightlifting and endurance training to supplement college athletics. I started hands on personal training after college and began bolstering up my education with studies and certifications. I am well informed with all of the standard equipment and their modalities. I regularly utilize the Functional Movement Screening (FMS Test) to identify any mobility, stability, or patterning and the InBody scan to provide you with a body analysis.

Andrew is a very experienced trainer. He takes the time to go over specific details and makes sure you understand what exactly you’re doing per the specific program. He is very motivating and encouraging! Even though he works with me virtually he takes the time as if he is in person with me.

Working with Andrew has been nothing short of transformative. His dedication not only helped me reach my initial fitness goal (to hike the Four Pass Loop in the Maroon Bells) but also inspired the creation of new, challenging objectives. What truly sets him apart is his exceptional ability to adapt workouts to accommodate injuries and guide effective rehabilitation. His extensive knowledge across various fitness modalities makes each session dynamic and engaging. His personalization of workouts showcases his commitment to my well-being. Moreover, his encouraging nature has played a crucial role in pushing me beyond my limits and keeping me training. I Wholeheartedly recommend Andrew for his dedication, personalization, encouraging spirit, kindness, and a wealth of knowledge that makes every session both effective and enjoyable.

I’ve been with Andrew for over six months now and it’s been an incredible journey. From the very first session, he made me feel comfortable and confident, setting a welcoming tone that made me look forward to each workout. What sets Andrew apart is his attention to detail and personalized approach. He took time to understand my fitness goals, lifestyle, and any limitations I had. Each workout is tailored to push me just enough, ensuring steady progress while minimizing the risk of injury. He is not just about physical training; he also provides valuable advice on nutrition and recovery, which has been a game changer for me. For anyone looking to make a positive change in their life, I cannot recommend Mack enough.

As someone brand new to the gym & personal training, I wasn't sure what to expect, but surely did not anticipate enjoying the sessions as much as I did. Working with Andrew has been rewarding because he is: 1. Patient and encouraging: When I was slow to pick up on something, or just straight up uncoordinated, Andrew was always patient and encouraging. I never felt self-conscious. 2. Knowledgeable: Whatever your issue or goal, Andrew has the depth of knowledge to tailor sessions that respect limitations while progressing towards goals. 3. Personable: You could get some drill sergeant who barks out "Lift 10 times!" but if you'd rather have someone a little more enjoyable to be around, this is your guy.

Andrew is focused on helping me achieve my goals and makes every session challenging (& somehow fun). He has great attention to detail when it comes to form and not only have I gotten noticeably stronger, but my range of motion has also greatly improved. He tailors each workout to my individualized goals and is a pleasure to train with and talk to.

Andrew is such an experienced and intelligent coach. He takes the time to continually learn and improve on his skills and knowledge. He also makes the point to practice what he preaches by training hard and exemplifying a great leader. Without Andrew, I wouldn’t have the confidence to go shirtless to the clubs as often as I do!

One of Andrew’s online clients. Love how flexible he is with my schedule as it is ever-changing. Love the app he uses and the videos for demonstrations on exercises. Very easy to talk with and understands what you are looking for in your fitness journey.

I have been training with Andrew for almost a year and it has exceeded expectations. He has taken my strength and mobility to another level, creating workouts specific to my body’s strengths and weaknesses and getting me out of my normal routine. He helped me run my first 50k-pain and injury free!! Andrew is always in a good mood and always ready to motivate.

I’ve worked with Andrew for several years now, and there are few people who know their stuff better than him. He’s not only great with weightlifting training—with his help, I’ve been able to complete multiple half-marathons and am currently training for a full marathon. Andrew is also very easy to talk to and will help you to understand the reasons for doing certain exercises and the muscles that they train. He’s done a great job helping me reach my goals, and I can’t recommend him highly enough.

I’ve worked with Mack for six months, and I appreciate how he translates his experience to my level. He always starts with an emphasis on functional, rather than isolation exercises for strength, and is closely attentive to form issues that could cause problems if unaddressed. This gives me the confidence to push harder and keep coming back.

Joel N.

10/10 experience. I wanted some professional advice on how to keep myself in shape for snowboard season and that’s exactly what I got. Mack was amazing to work with and I have never felt more prepared and in shape at the beginning of a season.

I’ve worked with several different personal trainers since I started my fitness journey 10 years ago and Andrew has provided the most transformative experience thus far. Andrew provides a nonjudgemental and encouraging space that has allowed me to push myself beyond what I thought was capable. He provides tailored workouts that are challenging yet achievable while ensuring proper form and safety. In addition to his training skills, he comes to each session prepared and organized. I would highly recommend Andrew!

This summer I signed up for multiple endurance events that are VERY out of my wheelhouse. I like lifting and I like shorter events like HYROX etc. but a marathon was a very scary goal. I had my first ever sprint Triathlon August 24th and my first ever full Marathon in Kauai on September 1st. Working with Andrew was a top priority for me because I wanted to train efficiently, effectively and smart. I broke my leg last year and deal with some pre-existing knee and joint issues so it was important to me to focus on longevity not just success of the races. Andrew was wildly helpful and not just a pre-training plan but warm-ups cool downs mobility and injury prevention and mitigation. I developed plantar fasciitis in both feet 12 weeks into training that progressively got worse and worse as I got closer to my races. I was really nervous and afraid that I wasn’t going to be able to complete them at all, but with his help and guidance he coached me through the appropriate recovery and training to where I was able to not just finish both events, but exceeded my goals and follow the exact plans that we set out to do If you’re looking for trainer and an expert in endurance and injury prevention, Andrew is the best around. 10/10 will work with him again for future races!

Ericka H.

Andrew is extremely knowledgeable about injury prevention and rehab! He’s helped me with my current issues, but has also helped me prevent them from coming back through the exercises he has me doing. Would recommend to anyone with an athletic goal or history of injuries.
