VerifiedAbout Leslie
Hello! My name is Leslie and I am a Personal Trainer & Sports Performance Coach serving clients in the Denver area. A little bit about me!… I played college soccer at Slippery Rock University where I earned my Bachelor Degree in Exercise Science. I then furthered my education and obtained a Masters Degree in Exercise Science at California University of Pennsylvania. Currently, I am certified through NSCA as a Strength & Conditioning Coach, and NASM as a Personal Trainer and Corrective Exercise Specialist. I have over 8 years of experience working with clients of all ages and fitness abilities.
As a trainer, I value the connections I build with my clients. I want each and every client I work with to feel comfortable in my training space and will do my absolute best to ensure that their needs are being met. I value feedback and open communication with my clients and will not only provide feedback to you, but ask for your feedback so that I can better serve you as a coach. I value movement quality and executing exercise pain-free. I have an extensive background working with clients with current/previous injuries/ health issues and designing and implementing programs with the goal of eliminating pain and creating intentional and efficient movement.
I believe that good training is intentional and unique to each individual's needs and goals. I think it is imperative to first establish a relationship built on trust with a client and identify barriers that have interfered with them establishing and/ or maintaining a consistent routine. From here, we perform different assessments which will allow me to better develop a program that not only fits your needs and goals, but also works on eliminating imbalances, and creating optimal movement patterns. Ultimately, we all want to feel our absolute best and live a more fulfilling life. I truly believe that exercise is medicine and essential for thriving not only physically but mentally as well. I would absolutely love to be a facilitator, motivator and guide on your journey towards achieving your best self :)
My favorite client story
Several years ago I worked with an older woman who had Parkinson’s. The very first day we met, her husband had to assist her walking into the building because she was so unstable when walking. I was so excited for us to have met and knew what an integral role I could have on her quality of life. One day, after a few months of working together, she showed up to the session without the assistance of her husband. She continued to tell me how much training with me has changed her life for the better. She said she didn’t depend on her husband nearly as much for assistance, felt way more stable, and most importantly, felt a new energy and happiness in her day to day life.
My favorite exercise
I would have to say chin-ups/ pull-ups. A few years ago I couldn’t do one rep and set my mind towards achieving a goal of completing one rep. With patience and consistent effort, at the end of that same year, I achieved my goal. Now 3 years later I can do 10 reps. Proud of myself for the progress I’ve made and staying consistent!
My favorite quote
“Don’t count the days, make the days count”
My training philosophy
Meeting my clients exactly where they are at, whether they’re a beginner or experienced. Using proper progressions with them and always ensuring proper technique with every exercise. I want my clients to feel good with movement. There is no quick fix. Proper training requires consistently showing up and following a well put together plan.
My training experience
I’ve trained clients of all ages and abilities. I also work with competitive athletes and help them take their game to the next level.
