About Michaelangelo

 I graduated from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst with my Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology and am currently attending graduate school  at the University of Massachusetts at Lowell in pursuit of my doctorate degree in physical therapy.   

 

My ideal client is anyone with a goal, a positive attitude, and a willingness to work hard. That’s really it. Everybody is different and every body is different, so my personalized fitness programs are catered to each of my client’s individual needs.

 

Fitness to me isn't just about building muscle and looking nice, it's about building confidence, a personality, and life-long relationships with people who want to better themselves. Surrounding myself with positive people has really helped me better my life, both physically and mentally.  When I'm not in the gym, working, or studying, you can find me out with my friends grabbing a drink or a bite to eat. It's all about balance!

This is my first time getting a trainer. Before him, I thought I could achieve my goals on my own and get results. After a few months, my body felt the same. I couldn't lift heavier, and I had so many questions about my diet plan. However, once I first found out about Mike on Instagram, the idea of hiring a trainer looked to be the right move. I’ve spent 20$ or 30$ on training programs before and the result was always the same I don’t stay consistent and I end up back to square one. When I was informed of gerardi performance I was iffy because I’m a broke college student but working with mike was worth it. As a former college football player I had to be a certain weight to be able to compete with other players. I did the 1-on-1 In-person coaching program with Mike from March 2023 to the end of December 2023. I have been “attending” big box gyms for many years (i.e., Planet Fitness), but honestly did not really know what I should be doing to achieve my personal goals. Watching others confidently using free weights and lifting seemed overwhelming to me. I knew I needed a fitness coach to guide me through the journey while ensuring injury prevention. When I first started this program, I tore my meniscus in my knee. I was hesitant on moving forward, but was told that they can make it work, and they totally made it work. I wasn’t able to start working out quite yet, so just focused on nutrition. They offered me a completely customized meal plan day by day with a weekly shopping list. The app used to track meals and workouts is super easy to use. Within a few days of changing my diet around to what was recommended, I immediately started feeling better and noticed more energy, more mental clarity, and just overall a sense of being full all the time without getting hungry at random times throughout the day. I ended up having surgery about halfway through the program. Mike and Briana made this so adaptable to me and what was happening in my life. This program is a no-brainer. All you have to do is be consistent and put in the work. They do the rest. Throughout the program, if I had any questions or needed to change anything up, they were there immediately to adapt and make things work to get the results I wanted, and I couldn’t of asked for a better set up. Having no experience with a training program at all, this is a 12 out of 10 program. I am so happy with my personal training with Michael. He is extremely knowledgeable and and is super encouraging. I was skeptical, as I’ve never used a male trainer before, but he completely changed my thinking. He listens to me and challenges me, and I’m super comfortable and have complete trust in him and his process. We do different things during each session, and I’m never bored. His training helps me physically and mentally and when I’m training with him, my endorphins are so high, I feel amazing, that’s how he helps me. When I’m done my workout for the day, I feel awesome and accomplished, and helps me to feel strong and capable! When I woke up with my back completely out of wack (Not because of him!!!!) he really helped me with a lot of stretching and teaching me some core exercises that really helped with pain and stiffness. He’s also great to chat with in between reps!!! I highly recommend him to anyone, at any level, male or female. He’s truly an amazing trainer and I’m so happy that we connected!

Mike is there to push you when you need it but isn’t overly pushy which is a tough balance and one I haven’t found in the past. I had been working out and trying to lose weight for 4+ years with minimal success. I came to Mike with a goal of losing 15-20 lbs. I had to no idea how long it would take or even if it would be possible. However, within a matter of just 3 months of in person sessions, I lost 18 lbs, while increasing my strength. Afterwards, I became an online client, where Mike provided me with a five day workout plan that included 4 days of weight training with 1 day of full cardio. Little skeptical having a PT for the first time in my 4-1/2 year journey, learning through trial and error, picking up things as I went along (292lbs -> 180lbs ->208lbs). Being a bigger guy for a large majority of my life gaining weight was harder mentally than physically. Then came this f’ing guy! Him and I chatted over the phone getting to know a little more about his program, went in depth over nutrition, and found a goal to reach. Then it was off to work for 6 weeks, over the course of the program he provided check ups and communication or questions I may have had. Stupid simple till the end, what you put in you get out. I had gained 10lbs (208-218), went from 10.7BF - 11.5%BF (which is expected when bulking), and added 6.6lbs of lean muscle mass! ???? For anyone looking to add lean mass, my guy will turn you into a monster!!!
