About Nephtwim
I am a military veteran with 22 years of service and a dedicated fitness enthusiast. My own fitness journey took different forms, some optimal and some not so much. I am no stranger to injuries and the consequences of inadequate rehabilitation. While I maintained a regular fitness routine throughout most of my adult life, I didn’t optimize my efforts and, as a result, experienced several pathologies that could have been prevented by a targeted systematic approach to training.
I want to make a difference in people’s lives by helping them to improve their quality of life. Regardless of your background or exercise experience, I can help you improve your current fitness level. My specialty is teaching the body to move better and getting it stronger to handle daily life.
My training philosophy is based on four pillars of fitness: Nutrition, Exercise & Movement, Supplementation, and Coaching. A targeted mix of all four tailored to your individual circumstances will maximize your chances of accomplishing your goals. Let me help you take charge of your health.
My favorite client story
My mother is 67 years old. She has always valued wellness and taking care of herself. Yet, despite her best efforts at living a healthy lifestyle she has struggled with keeping excess weight off. I took her on as a client in June of 2020 to help her improve her general physical conditioning. Her flexibility and mobility improved as well as her strength and balance. One day, she had her hands full carrying laundry in her apartment complex when she slipped and fell on the hard concrete ground right on her posterior. She said that she immediately got up and continued with her chores, and never experienced any dysfunction or injuries as a result. She credits that to her improved fitness. At the start of September 2020, she committed to a weight loss program; to date she has lost over 4 pounds. This is despite the fact that she only trains at home with very limited equipment, 2x a week. She finally moved that needle on the scale in the right direction.
My favorite exercise
Any exercise that does what it's supposed to do.
My favorite quote
Tradition is a wonderful thing; until it prevent you from doing things better.
My training philosophy
Multi-pronged approach to ensure your efforts are not wasted. Proper nutrition is vital to support the work you do with physical activity; you cannot out-train a bad diet. Sufficient activity levels and optimal movement mechanics create the stimulus for your desired changes. Supplementation fills the gaps created by the realities and stresses of life. Coaching will keep you motivated and focused on your goals.
My training experience
I have been a fitness enthusiast for over 26 years and a certified personal trainer and nutrition coach for 1 year. In that year, I have trained working moms, a senior client, and an ultra-marathon athlete.
