Hello :) I am a former professional soccer player and ACE certified personal trainer seeking to help every single person realize and take steps toward their full potential through fitness, nutrition, and a healthy lifestyle. I also recently started as the Head of Strength & Conditioning and Nutrition for Phoenix Rising FC!!
I've been training for almost 15 years and worked with a wide range of clients (I've worked with hundreds of clients) ranging from aspiring pro athletes to busy parents to sedentary older adults.
I originally became a trainer to help combat the youth obesity in this country. While that is still a primary goal, I have also fallen in love with helping people of all ages and abilities reach their fitness goals.

My favorite client story
I trained a mother and her daughter for about a year. They both lost over 50lbs in that time, and just being able to watch the transformation of not only their bodies, but also their minds and relationship with each other was very special.

I went to Robert when I was 220 pounds.. I have had back surgery and have eating issues.. Robert helped me emotionally get to a point where I was strong enough to help myself. He pushed me everyday to become a better person. I met Robert for training and it was the hardest thing I’ve ever done. Inwanted to cry or puke when I left... but the next day I always felt like a million dollars and couldn’t wait to get back! He helped me to get into shape and I lost 50llbs . He also wrote out a workout plan for my daughter who is a soccer player after she broke her ankle and tore all the ligaments .. Robert is very professional and knows what he’s talking about!!
When I need a strength-training plan, I always turn to Robert Acosta. His plans are challenging, utilize compound movements that save me time while still accomplishing my goals, and include creative exercises that keep my workouts interesting and fun. These are key components to my fitness, as I’m a runner who must fit in workouts around raising toddler triplets. I’ve used Robert for over 5 years—including during pregnancy, postpartum, and race training. The workouts he designed postpartum helped me gain back my fitness within 8 months of giving birth and transitioned very well into the workouts he designed for my first half-marathon. I look forward to a continued partnership with Robert as I continue to run and set more challenging racing goals.
I had the pleasure of working with Robert Acosta when I first started my journey to a healthier life style. Rob was the first trainer that I had ever worked with. His positivity is contagious. He offered encouragement as he was guiding me through my workouts. Under his guidance I was able to achieve more than I had imagined possible. I've just finished my 4th session with Robert. I can already see improvements. He's upbeat and fun to work out with each time. He's helping not get me in better shape physically with the workouts, he's helping me fine tune my diet. He has a wealth of knowledge. I thought I was eating pretty healthy, but not in the way I need to for the goals I've set. I look forward to signing up for me sessions.
great trainer - will train again with Robert. I've had a personal trainer for 15 years and a member of FYT for 5. I visited Arizona for a week and worked out with Robert 4 times. I def will work out with him again when i'm back. I needed someone who knew the body as well as i know mine given my back pain and injuries and Robert was able to dial in the program immediately and moderate during the workouts. great workouts for all levels given his background in fitness and wellness.
