About Debbie
Your health and fitness journey is one of the most important investments you will ever make in your life. Balancing life, work and health goals isn't easy, but it is do-able. I immensely value the opportunity to help you reach your goals and improve the quality of your life. I will motivate and inspire you to accomplish your goals and will be there to support you in living your BEST LIFE. Becoming a trainer was not my fist goal. For a number of years I was a fitness and SPINNING instructor. After several years of having reached that goal I began my journey as a personal trainer. From there to owning my own studio, The FIT LAB.
Over the years I have worked with a variety of clients. Young athletes, pregnant women and elderly women and men who want to 'get back in shape. However my ideal client is a women 40-65 who has the desire to lget her 'jiggy' back. The children are grown, she has the desire to take live her next chapter actively by losing weight, being strong and having fun!
My favorite client story
I have 3 favorite stories. 1) Mallory was a competitive swimmer. We started training when she was 12. I was so very proud of her when she accepted a full ride scholarship to Alabama! 2) Milly is an 85 year old who deals with back trouble. She is slight in stature - 90 lbs. After a leg surgery she became my client. Over the course of time she was doing 3 miles on the 'hand bike' and still lives at home! 3) Miranda, a busy mom and executive trains to be fit and healthy. She is now living her best life!
My favorite exercise
I have a few favorites and it's hard to pick only one. I'd have to say rowing on the Water Rower, cycling and working to build muscle by weight training.
My favorite quote
Antoine de Saint-Exupéry — 'A goal without a plan is just a wish.'
My training philosophy
Don't be afraid to come out of your comfort zone. Train smart and safe! Success will come thru good nutrition and one workout at a time.
My training experience
I've been in the fitness industry since the early 80's. My experience comes from continuing to educate both myself and my clients. Fitness is a science. The combination of exercise and nutrition is key in obtaining optimal results.
