About Brion

As a child growing up in Brooklyn, NY, I was overweight and obese. I lacked the information and motivation to make healthier choices. After witnessing family members battle their own health-related issues, I knew I had to make a change. I was ready to embark on a new path. During the last ten years of my training career, I have worked in a few gyms, including YMCA Greenpoint and Lead Trainer at New York Sports Clubs.

Training with me is fun, supportive, safe, and informative. Each session starts with me talking to clients so that they can take a moment to unwind and unpack any stress from the day before we can do some work. From there, I guide clients in strength-based exercises and unconventional cardio (i.e. boxing, circuits, TRX). I take your personal goals and create an overall fitness program that is tailored to your wants and needs.

I hope to help you be the best version of yourself utilizing the tools of nutrition, fitness, and the culinary arts. The concept is to arm you with evidence-based data to make the best-informed decisions within the parameters of your life, providing you with the highest quality.

I started working out in high school. I was always really athletic. I had over 10+ years of training and swore that I knew so much. I hated dealing with trainers at gyms. That was until I met Brion. Brion is not only a personal trainer, he is an amazing, loving and genuine human being. He is one of the most positive, caring and patient trainers that I have ever met. He helps you understand your body and the science behind it. He doesn’t just make you follow a basic workout plan so you can get your hour training session in. He actually cares! His workouts are always different and really fun; training with him never gets boring. He loved to challenge me. He helped me build the strongest foundation I’ve ever had, cutting half of the time I usually would put in at the gym. He guided me with information on proper nutrition and rest. He introduced me to anterior/posterior workouts, push/pull workouts, gymnastic and athletic training, as opposed to the typical chest/arms/back/legs routine. He helped me rehab my shoulder and leg injuries better than any physical therapist I ever went to. He inspired me to become a trainer myself. What makes me happiest is to see how his clients motivate him to be the best person he can possibly be. Brion is out of this world. You cannot go wrong with this man here!

Initially, I was skeptical about working with Brion because he wasn’t my original trainer, so of course, anything new is a bit intimidating. However, once I started working with him, I loved it. I am not your average gym-goer. I begin working with Brion 2 - 3 times a week. Each session ran for one hour. The workouts were intense, but he was such a good trainer that my resistance and agility increased tremendously. I never thought that I would “enjoy “ working out, but it was because I had Brion there motivating me along the way. He always gave me that push that I needed. I was averaging maybe 7 pounds a month of weight loss, which I have never achieved in my life. Brion has taught me that weight loss is not an overnight thing. It takes REALLY hard work to achieve your goals. I worked with him for over a year, and my total weight loss at the end was about 50lbs. I got lighter, both mentally and physically. Overall, he’s good, very knowledgeable, and he can tell you how your body works.

Brion is the best trainer you can get. He doesn’t just tell you what workouts to do, he give your pointers on lifestyle changes that aren’t so drastic that they feel impossible. He definitely is a great motivator and makes you want to stay focused. If you can’t hit your fitness goal with him, you’re not ever gonna hit it.

Brion designed and coached me on a set of workouts that combined aerobic exercise with strength training. He gave me personalized advice for what to eat pre- and post-workout. The workouts he designed, which I still do at home, as well as his nutritional advice, didn’t just help me lose weight. They transformed the composition of my body and improved my metabolic health. When I started working with Brion, I weighed almost 208 pounds and had a BMI of 29.3. Working with Brion once a week for three months, I not only lost over 25 pounds, but my body fat and visceral fat decreased significantly, while my skeletal muscle increased. In just six and half weeks, my body fat decreased from 23.7% to 19.1%, my visceral fat decreased from 11% to 9%, while my skeletal muscle increased from 34.7 % to 37.2%. The nutrionist that my internist referred me to could not believe the results I was getting. She said, “You must be working out like crazy.” I said, “No, it’s just that instead of working with a trainer, I’m working with an expert who trains!
