I'm a personal trainer based in the New York metro area ready to help you reach your fitness goals. My number one objective is to help my clients succeed using the most efficient tools and methods available. I have been training for six years and have experience working with folks of all ages, beginners, intermediates, and advanced clients looking for specific technical assistance. I love working with people and helping them better themselves.
I prefer foundational barbell, dumbbell, and bodyweight movements that build structural integrity, strength and a symmetric physique and scale them appropriately to the client's abilities. I believe form is paramount to training safely and effectively. As a type one diabetic and celiac, I also have a unique and extensive background in nutrition and various diets, and have helped create better dietary habits and strategies consistent with client goals.
I work in both gyms and home environments, getting creative if necessary. Whether you are looking for one session or a longer term relationship with a trainer, I hope we can work together and achieve your goals.

My training philosophy
I believe that (fatigue aside) you should feel better after a training session than when you came in - emotionally, physically, and mentally. Good quality movement and training will tire the body and ask it to improve, but it should not leave you hurt, feeling beat up, or demoralized.

John is extremely knowledgeable and does a great job of balancing being personable and holding you accountable. He is strict when it comes to proper form, which is something that everyone should appreciate if they want to achieve their goals as that is the foundation of everything. Following his instructions and advice, I was able to cut weight and improve on my lifts all while reducing my back and hip pain! Also, unlike many other trainers, he has a great sense of humor and training with him is like working out with a friend. I give John my highest recommendation.
John helped me get stronger, more muscular, and lose fat. He worked around my busy schedule and put in a lot of effort to teach me how to lift correctly and safely. He also helped me simplify my diet and get rid of foods that were just empty calories and made me feel sluggish throughout the day. Highly recommend him if you want to feel better and get stronger!
John is patient, attentive and really cares about his clients. He got me doing movements I was scared of doing wrong and getting injured by. If I didn't "get" an exercise right away he'd take the time to explain it in different ways and make sure that I did it right. I fit in my clothes better and people have been noticing!
I am very grateful for John, I can’t say enough positive things about him. He has helped me to customize a work out regime that is improved my strength immensely. He has worked closely with me on my fitness goals and helped me to achieve things I never thought I could. He has also helped my alignment tremendously. I have been dancing for sixteen years and have suffered through several dance injuries, specifically in my lower back. Due to these injuries, I was always nervous about lifting/ training with weights. John taught me how to lift safely and effectively. Since beginning training with John my back injuries have ceased to bother me and I have gained more muscle in my back. John is a dedicated trainer, who really wants to see his clients succeed at their goals.
Book with John! I used him over the summer (2-3 sessions per week) and he was fantastic in creating a routine that I could stick to and allowed me to build muscle! John is friendly, funny, and extremely knowledgeable. Regardless of your goal, he will know how to get you there and will motivate you to work harder than you could alone. It was an absolute pleasure working with John, and I would 110% do it again!
John and I have been working together for 6 months. I've worked with other trainers before with decent success, but I felt that after a little while it just became a routine and I wasn't moving forward. John always tries to keep me moving forward and I feel like he genuinely cares that I improve. He knows how to push just enough to make me work hard without feeling beat up. He always encourages me and it honestly makes me want to work harder.
I had a back injury and became terrified of working out. I needed someone who could push me while be knowledgeable of my limitations. Not only does John have extensive knowledge of proper workout techniques, but is also able to explain things where I can understand what I am supposed to do. Numerous times, I would be surprised how much a difference a small adjustment from John can make! I am able to move and excersise confidently after John's coaching and guidance. John is very accommodating with my variable schedule and tailors all the workouts to my needs. I highly recommend John if you are looking for someone who will guide you through an awesome workout experience!
John is a great trainor! He keeps you engaged in the workout and always mixes it up in order for your body to always be active and not hiting a platheu. He explains how every exercise affects your body, which muscles are getting worked and how it benefits you in great detail, and also has a great atenttion to detail correcting even the slightest things you are doing wrong and with it making a huge difference assuring you get the most out of your workout.
