About Troy

I grew up overweight and decided to turn my life around in my early teens. Training gave me confidence, strength, discipline and a place to relieve stress. It is my hobby as well as my passion. As I learned more about fitness, I realized It could use it to help those around me the same way it helped me.

My goal is to one day open a fitness center of my own that includes programs for overweight children and families. I want to not only help those already struggling to reach their goals but to also reduce obesity where it starts world wide. I began my career as a trainer in order to gain the experience to achieve that goal and because I love it. I graduated from Rutgers with a Bachelors in Exercise Science and Sports Management. From there I started as a Personal Trainer at Equinox, rising to become one of their highest tier trainers and earners at my location within 4 years. Now I own my own personal training company called Mettle. Within my tenure as a trainer and nutrition consultant I have worked with the obese, elderly, youth, those going through cancer, those wanting to lose weight and those wanting to gain muscle. When I started working with Troy I was battling major knee and back pain. Additionally, I had hit a plateau on my body composition after losing 50lbs two years prior. After three months of dedicated work with Troy, I was able to increase my 10 rep squat max by 120 lbs. My knee and back are now stronger than ever and my pain is completely gone.
