My favorite client story

In my first few months of business, I had a woman reach out to me about wanting to lose weight to fit into her wedding dress. She had 4 months to get there, and estimated she’d need to lose at least 20lbs to be the right size, but she did not want to lose her body’s natural curves in doing so.

She was a trauma night nurse, with a hectic schedule that would sometimes have her travel over an hour to her sessions. I told her exactly what it would take to reach that goal, and the changes we would need to implement into her lifestyle. She told me she could do it, and having only been in business for a few months, I was probably more skeptical than confident I could deliver.

She began to train with me 3 times per week in June of 2021. I was training out of my tiny 1 car garage in my condo, and didn’t have a/c or much equipment in general. She came late afternoons, and the sun would set directly on the garage at that time. So when I tell you it was a true grind for both of us, I mean it.

After about 2 months of training, she told me her family was doing a small beach weekend together. At this time, she was around 10-12 lbs down in weight consistently and was excited for a much needed break. About halfway through the weekend, she called me. I thought something awful had happened, because why the heck would she call me in the middle of vacation?

I answered and she immediately yelled, “Guess what!?”

I was confused at the excitement in her voice. She then told me that while at the beach, she felt so confident in herself that she bought a 2-piece bathing suit. She had only packed a 1-piece. She said she felt like all the hard work she put in needed to be shown off, and for the first time in her life, she wore a 2-piece bathing suit. This was a 36 year-old woman.


In society’s point of view, some ignorant people might say she still wasn’t quite the “right” size for that type of bathing suit. Those people are wrong. She told me that because we pushed so hard in those first 8 weeks, she felt that confident that she did something she’d never done IN HER LIFE.

That will continue to be and always has been my greatest client success story. That woman made me realize I can really help people, and not just in their fitness goals. I helped her with her confidence, and that’s better than any weight loss number or metric.

That’s what it’s all about for me. The huge transformations are obviously great, but it's the wins you don’t expect that are a byproduct of trusting the process and putting the work in that do it for me. I know it is my heart's desire to help everybody reach those types of heights in their lives. I also know that all most people need is a little guidance in the right direction to achieve greatness. I strive to be the assist-man that makes it happen for them.

My favorite exercise

Deadlift. It is easily the most functional exercise that targets all of the body's major muscle groups. On top of that, it has the most carry-over to every day life.

My training philosophy

It is my goal to help everyone feel comfortable in the gym. That starts with having a fundamental awareness of how to move your body efficiently & healthily. My goal is to teach people how to move and be healthy FOR LIFE.

My training experience

I have a Masters and Bachelors of Science in Exercise Science, am a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist, a Certified Nutrition Coach from Precision Nutrition, a Certified Stretching and Flexibility Coach, and am CPR/AED/First Aid certified from the American Red Cross.
