About Michele
Being a lifelong fitness enthusiast and a personal trainer for 18 years has prepared me to work with clients of all types. While health and fitness has always been central to my personal philosophy and professional goals, I've worn many hats!
Varied experiences have helped me become versatile, empathetic, and highly intuitive when working with clients. Helping others discover how much better they feel with lifestyle changes and corrective exercise has been the reward of my career. I have suffered with a painful chronic back condition for 24 years, prompting me to learn corrective exercise techniques--a skill I apply with clients suffering with pain or exhibiting muscle imbalances.
My goal with clients is to decide together what success will look like and help them get there with thoughtful programming and guidance in ALL areas of health and wellness. I provide emotional support as well as nutrition and fitness guidance, because they are all linked and overlap! I strive to raise awareness and establish a mind-body connection through exercise and mindfulness. I believe in assessments to establish goals and feedback to make sure what we're doing together is working! Coaching is a collaborative relationship and that's how I will treat it!
My favorite client story
There are so many to choose from but Mitch has been a client for 15 years, and has trained remotely with me for the last 6. He came to me around 50 yo and had wanted to start running, but knee pain stopped him. He was getting cortisone shots regularly when we first started working together. We did many assessments in the beginning and worked from the ground up. A model client, he was very good at following my direction. Before long he not only start running regularly, and without cortisone shots, but became a barefoot/minimalist runner like me, which brought me immense joy! To this day, he runs 2 or 3 days a week, often with his local beer runner group and runs races regularly. He has also recently revamped his diet to adopt an anti-inflammatory Mediterranean diet with my guidance and encouragement so he can be completely free from the medications that have been managing his arthritis. Go, Mitch!
My favorite exercise
I am kind of a pull-up geek and have a mission to teach any woman who is willing to learn how to do them! (Don't worry, I teach men too!) Even though they are HARD and I have a love-hate relationship with them, nothing says "I'm strong" like someone who can pull their body weight with ease! I wrote an entire blog series on how to assess for mobility and strengthen the shoulder to prepare for pull-ups on the blog I manage for the National Federation of Professional Trainers.
My favorite quote
Ability is what you're capable of doing, Motivation determines what you do, Attitude determines how well you do it.
--Lou Holz
My training philosophy
I believe in foundational stability and balance before building strength---and I believe everyone is capable of this. I also believe moving some is better than not at all. There is no such thing as a bad workout if you got one done!
My training experience
I've been in this business for almost 20 years and am fortunate to have become skilled at something I so deeply enjoy. I have worked in big gyms, small studios, my own home studio, people's homes, outdoor groups, and most recently, over video calls and remote training apps. I have also developed and filmed over 20 workout videos that are currently on rotation and have been for 10 years on Xfinity OnDemand workouts.
As I mentioned above, I have been the blog editor and publisher for the NFPT for 3 years and have learned so much writing and editing educational blogs for personal trainers, staying on the cutting edge of fitness and exercise research.
Ultimately, I have trained hundreds of clients over the years, enjoying every minute of it. Many have them stuck with me for years and years, not only because I deeply care about their fitness goals and helping them get healthy and fit, but because I care about THEM.

Training Areas Served
I discovered Michele’s workouts on my On Demand cable service several years ago and I still remember and use the tips and techniques she displayed. I had never done weight training and so I loved how she broke down the moves and demonstrated how to train safely. Her workouts played a huge role in my transition to a healthier lifestyle, helping me to lose 180+ pounds along the way. I would recommend her to people training at any level.
Excellent Trainer!! Only one session , so far, with Michele and it was a wonderful experience!!
