Roger Montenegro is a Cum Laude graduate of the University of Florida where he earned his Degree in Applied Physiology and Kinesiology with a Minor in Business Administration in 2012. He holds a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) degree from the National Strength and Conditioning Association and Level 1 USA Track and Field (USATF) Certification.
Over the years Roger has dedicated himself to the Strength & Conditioning Department of Olympic Sports at Florida Atlantic University and the NFL, NBA, MLB and youth athletes at Bommaritos Performance Systems. In 2013, he worked as a Strength Coach for St. Thomas Aquinas High School Water Polo, aiding the team in earning their first ever state title.
In 2014, Roger moved across the world to work in Kuwait City, Kuwait as an Athletic Performance Coach for Spark Athletic. In 2015, Roger trained clients from many backgrounds at Crunch Fitness in Oakland Park Florida. In 2016, Roger moved to New Zealand to become the Head Swim Coach and Strength Coach at Kings College in Auckland. Roger has recently moved to the seaside city of Saint Petersburg where he practices Coaching and Personal Training. He also works with Fitter & Faster Swim Tour, working with Olympians and the youth in the community to become better swimmers.
A certified swim coach, lifeguard, and First Aid-CPR-AED, Roger has been involved in aquatic sports for 15+ years.
My favorite client story
I have worked with a wide variety of customers from a 10 year old aspiring football player to 70 year old just trying to become more flexible and make everyday movements easier. From NFL, MLB, NCAA and foreign athletes to a client whose sole goal was to just be able to get into a standard routine and feel good about themselves. My training experience
I graduated with a Bachelors of Science in Physiology and Sports Movement from the University of Florida. I am certified since 2013 by one of the top Strength and Conditioning certifications any personal trainer or coach can have, the National Strength and Conditioning Association, as a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist. Every University in the country has to be certified through them, so it is a well established institution. I have also worked abroad in Kuwait and New Zealand as a Strength and Conditioning coach for various teams, colleges, and highly successful athletes as well as non-athletic individuals. I have had the opportunity to work with Florida Atlantic University in their strength and conditioning department to make athletes from all teams get better. I have also been able to work with Boomaritos Performace Systems working with NFL combine prospects as well as NFl, MLB, NBA players. I have always swam competitively and played water polo, so I come from a competitive sporting background. With all this previous training experience, it has allowed me to take many different well proven paths to success for any individuals goals, being fat loss, weight gain, endurance training, specific competitive sport training, nutrition, and so much more. I have worked with kids and the elderly so I understand many different problems an individual might have as well as pain tolerance and level of comfort.
