Exercise physiologist extensively trained and experienced in teaching a number of undergraduate and graduate courses in several academic institutions here in the US and overseas. My areas of expertise include: exercise physiology, fitness, nutrition, health and disease and over all wellness. In addition, over the years I have enjoyed a long and successful career as a clinical exercise physiologist working in clinical settings conducting exercise stress testing, fitness evaluations and individualized exercise and nutrition prescription.
As a personal trainer, I try to get to know my clieInts quickly and assess their needs and together we set short and long term realistic goals based on their current health status and fitness level.
Each of my new clients undergoes a thorough health, nutrion and fitness evaluation. All clients are strongly encourage to provide most recent copy of their blood work. Based on the results, they are given an individualized 8 weeks exercise and nutrition plan. In order to assess progress and to increase motivation; a follow-up fitness and nutrition evaluation is conducted at the end of each 8 week training period.
During each training session, clients receive updated information regarding training methods, nutrition, weight management, behaviour modification and overall health benefits of active lifestyle.
My former students, colleagues and clients would say that I am a very caring individual driven by hard work and lifelong learning, someone who truly practices what he preaches.
My favorite client story
One of my current client, a 42 year old male who could get out of bed before 9:00-10:00 am. Never liked exercising and has an emotional eating issue. After 3 months of training, he schedules his session at 8:00 am twice weekly and he goes jogging at a near by park twice a week on his own.

My favorite exercise
Performing interval training while running up and down two small adjacent hills located at a local park. During the recovery phase, we discuss aerobic vs. anaerobic workout, resting, exercise and recovery heart rate, active vs. passive recovery.

My training philosophy
Leading a healthy and productive lifestyle and achieving and maintaining a high level of functional ability should be among your highest priorities. Regular physical activity and healthy lifestyle are the the two prerequisites for longevity and happiness.
My training experience
I have been involved with one form of physical training or the other for the past 40 some years.
My life long journey began as a young soccer player who ended having a pretty successful college and pro career.
As a senior college faculty member for about 30 years, I was fortunate to enjoy teaching a variety of exercise science course and achieving great success coaching varsity men's soccer.
I am a life long learner who regularly attend the national ACSM conventions. I have also learned a great deal from my former and current students and clients.
