About Emma
Emma is a NASM Certified Personal Trainer who has dedicated her life to health and wellness. With 12 years of ballet training and 7 years of training in the gym, altogether she offers 19 years of experience in fitness. She cares deeply about the health and well-being of others and enjoys taking the time to get to know her clients to find out the best way to help them reach and maintain their goals. While she is open to training anyone that inquires, her specialty, and passion, is weight management for individuals with polycystic ovary syndrome. Emma has struggled with it herself and has learned that the best approach is not through rigorous programming, cutting calories, or fad dieting, but through stress management, body-love, balanced eating, and moderate exercise. If you want to lose weight quickly, her PCOS programming is not for you, but she is perfectly willing and able to create such a program if you've got an event coming up and need to lose weight for it! She does not recommend this option for those who have PCOS as you may not see the same results if any.
My favorite exercise
I've really been appreciating assisted pull-ups lately.
My favorite quote
It's not who you are that holds you back, it's who you think you're not.
My training philosophy
It is the philosophy of Mind Motion Fitness that health and happiness are achievable at every
size. While weight management is the result that will come from working with me, it is not the goal. The
goal is to dismantle the stories you've been fed about size and health and in doing so develop a
more peaceful and collaborative relationship with your body and mind, reworking your inner
narrative to love who you are in the moment. Accomplishment and success are not judged by
the number on the scale, measuring tape, or BMI. They are judged by how you feel in relation
to your body and your image. It is measured by your personal accomplishments with strength,
endurance, and overall ability. Weight management will come with this, but it is not the primary reason
why we are working together. It is Emma's mission to help individuals find the balance between healthy physical and mental habits that lead them to live a fulfilling life, giving them the strength to heal the thoughts that tell them otherwise.

I started working with Emma after I got tired of feeling uncomfortable in my own skin. The way she works is from the foundation up. Focusing on smaller muscles that, in turn, support the larger ones. The perfect approach for someone like me: in my 40s, with small kids to keep up with and some prior sports related injuries. After just a couple of weeks, I feel so much stronger and more nimble. I'm excited to see what I'll feel like in the coming months! Another big bonus of working with Emma, is that she starts and ends each session with a brief meditation/centering/grounding that allows you to really think about why you are working out.
