About Coach

I've been a certified personal trainer for over six years, and in that time I have really learned a lot about the body and how it moves. I've worked with clients as young as eight and as old as 87. I've had clients who've wanted to lose weight and clients who've wanted to gain weight. I've worked with clients with MS, arthritis, diabetes, scoliosis.... you name it, I've seen it! Although, I love all of my clients, I especially love working with women and the Baby Boomer crowd. My certifications come from the American Council on Exercise (ACE); Personal Trainer in 2012, Fitness Nutrition Specialist in 2015 and Group Fitness Instructor in 2017. Also in 2017, I received my certification as a Level 1 Balanced Athlete Fitness Coach. I've trained in Michigan, Georgia and now Maryland and Washington, DC. I've taught a variety of classes including water aerobics, cardio kickboxing and High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT). For my own personal workouts, I need variety! Running, hiking, biking, weight lifting, yoga, HIIT training and dancing are some of my favorites. The top two fitness goals I have for myself and for my clients are 1) ensure that all exercises are done correctly and 2) have fun with fitness! Aside from my gym life.... I was born and raised in Grand Rapids, MI. I currently live in Washington, DC. I enjoy reading, baking, traveling, watching movies and exploring the new cities around me. I have been married to Anthony Smith since April 9, 2016; and much to my mother-in-law's dismay, no we do not have any children yet. My favorite color is purple, and I absolutely LOVE to help people and to make them laugh.
