About Katie

Hello there!

I am so happy to meet you! I've been in the fitness world since 2012 taking group exercise classes, workout out myself, losing 30 pounds, participating in 5k runs and mini triathlons.

I got inspired to become a personal trainer in 2017 and started taking clients in 2018. Since then I've taught group exercise classes with The Step Company/MOSSA, Silver Sneakers and worked with many personal training clients.

I've bee-popped around a few box gyms including the YMCA, Anytime Fitness, Senior Living Centers; Brookdale and Bethesda, 24 Hour Fitness, a personal gym of a friend of mine and now I work part time at the gym in my apartment complex.

Fitness and nutrition are FUN! And partnered with mindset coaching there's nothing you can't do. I make fitness something you can take over yourself. I make it maintainable for you so it's no longer a drugery. I love working with beginners and inspiring them to become their next best self. Here's to your greatness!! Katie

My favorite client story

I had the dad of a good friend of mine reach out and tell be he was starting to "use longer wrenches" at work. Meaning, he could tell he was loosing strength and compensating for it.
His goal was to get into an exercise routine and learn exercises specific to his bodytype (knee surgury, balance, no prior strength training experience).

I worked entirely virtually with Gene for six months on home workouts to build strength and stabilization as well as curate a nutrition outline for his goals according to foods he regularly ate.

Not only did Gene get to holding a handstand, doing 10 pullups in a row, but this past summer he went water skiing for the first time in ten years. Gene is now 62.

Gene did so great and I'm so proud of his hard work and dedication. Although we are no longer official trainer/client, I hear regularly of his continued home exercise work and continued results even after we completed our training together.

My favorite exercise

I did a progressive squat training program a few years ago which was the most invigorating work I've ever done.

Starting from scratch I worked my way up to 295lb for 8 reps. It felt amazing. It was taxing however and difficult to maintain over the holidays, which is where I decided to return to a more traditional form of weightlifting.

My favorite quote

If it's meant to be it's up to me. - Brian Tracy.

My training philosophy

Be patient, give yourself the gift of giving your progress as much time as you need. Everyone is different. Don't compare your results or progress to someone else. The changes you're making will last the rest of your life, and maybe it took all of your life up until this point to create your current results. We'll get there, I promise you.

My training experience

My specialty is to help individuals new to exercise get comfortable with working out. It's all mindset baby. Let me help you build confidence and get results you'll love. You got this.
