My experience with fitness dates back long before the thought of coaching others. Growing up I got involved with every sport I could. In high school I was introduced to structured training which led to a love of powerlifting and the start of my personal training career in 2005.
In 2007 my progress was derailed by bilateral knee injuries which led to a series of surgeries leaving me inactive, overweight and depressed. To date I’ve undergone reconstructive surgery on my left hip, both knees and my left ankle (twice). After doctors told me I would be lucky to walk normally and would certainly never run or squat again, I’d resigned to a life of debilitation. At my lowest I ballooned up to over 260 pounds, was waiting for my handicapped tag and shopping for a cane at 23 years old.
Determined to prove them wrong and take back control of my life, I began heavily researching rehabilitative techniques to better under stand my situation and how to move forward. After years of focused, hard work my body is still not perfect, but today I can do all the things I was once told were impossible, which nicely sums why I'm so passionate about training for fitness: You can literally make the impossible, possible.
Through all of this I’ve learned invaluable lessons in overcoming obstacles, nutrition, strength and conditioning, body transformation and injury rehabilitation. Whether your goals include fat loss, alleviating back pain, improving posture and sports performance, or gaining muscle and strength, my unique combination of life and training experience has given me the tools necessary to help you get there.
