I have been training with Sam McManus for over three years and the particular quality that stands out for me in his overall excellent guidance is the level of his close attention. Every day that we meet I feel him watching for any changes in my strength or any exercise in which I am showing special fatigue or slippage in form. I feel that he really knows me and my physical possibilities. Besides helping me to eliminate pain in my back and knee he has strengthened my 85 year old body to the degree that I am playing tennis better than I ever have. I recommend Sam as a trainer whose breadth of medical knowledge is outstanding, who guides his clients with diagnostic sensitivity and whose open and friendly personality makes him a pleasure to spend time with.
I highly recommend Sam McManus as a reliable, knowledgeable and results oriented personal trainer. Working with Sam I quickly noticed a positive change in my appearance. In addition, my energy level increased and my strength improved. Sam’s approach to fitness training has helped me to become mentally tough. Initially we utilized my gym including their outdoor track. Eventually in the summer, we took advantage of training in nearby Central Park. Sam even offered nutritional advice to coincide with my training goals. My workouts were never dull, peppered with positive encouragement- even on days when I lacked energy or motivation. I always looked forward to meeting the challenges each workout session brought. And, there was a peace of mind knowing that I was achieving my fitness goals.
I worked with Sam for three years and I absolutely recommend him as a trainer. He’s professional, knowledgeable, creative, and pushes and motivates you to set goals and helps you meet them. During our years together I had a herniated disk, was pregnant, and had a baby - Sam’s experience as personal trainer and professional background in physical therapy made him just what I needed to always feel like I was doing exercises correctly, safely, and working towards the goals I set for myself in the different stages. Due to my initial back injury, I went from not being able to do much high impact training, to slowly building the strength to start running again which was one of my initial goals three years ago. Sam’s awesome, and everyone should work with him at some point.
