About Cornelia

My name is Cornelia and I am a NASM personal trainer and former elite swimmer living in LA, originally from Sweden.

 


I love helping people find a healthier lifestyle and a healthy mindset around working out. Each session is uniquely designed for you and your goals. Everyone's body is different, and everyone's journey is different, but I train people to love their bodies where they are while working towards their goals. I want to make working out fun for you, and I'm always going to push you in an encouraging way. I'm all about improving your mood, your confidence, and your quality of life.

 

I have a full gym in my garage in Culver City that I would love to welcome you too! My availability varies, so please feel free to message me directly on here in case you don't see a time slot that you would like to schedule a session for. My clients range in all ages and I do travel to clients if that is more convenient for you.

All of my clients are unique and have their own personal stories of struggle and success!

But one that's extra special is my client who came to me after having a knee replacement. Within a couple of weeks of training together; her mobility, range of motion, and strength had increased tremendously. Not only was her knee better, but she also understood the benefits exercising had on her life in general. This client of mine is 60+ and has now been with me for over 3 years. It warms my heart to have her tell me on the regular how much her life has improved since we met, both physically, mentally, and spiritually!

Had Cornelia as a PT for a week during the holidays. And I must admit (for one that doesn’t really enjoy training) I had the best time! We were a group of people and she set the program so that everyone could do it. Which was really great since we weren’t all on the same level. highly recommend training with her!

Cornelia is unbelievable! I worked out with her during my entire pregnancy and it paid off immensely! Besides being in fantastic shape, I bounced back within 3 weeks of giving birth, and it's all thanks to my Swedish viking trainer! Incredibly diligent, resourceful and kind, she was patient with me on my "off" days and pushed me when I felt good. Cornelia listened, too, which for a trainer is the most important thing. I came to Cornelia with hip and lower back issues, which were annoyingly persistent despite my ongoing cardio routine. She really helped me with developing some much-needed experience in strength training, guiding my form and encouraging me along the way, which was nice as I was a total beginner in this area. She developed fun, creative routines that worked with my very limited home gym setup (a couple pairs of handweights, some bands, and a kettlebell set) and kept things interesting for each workout. The online sessions were really convenient and worked much better than I'd imagined, and the great thing is that you can work out with her while traveling (she can create routines that don't need equipment). Training with her has been a great experience, highly recommend!

Cornelia, for me, is the perfect trainer. She’s encouraging and knowledgeable - with the ability to pivot to any number of different targeted moves and stretches to accommodate an injury or issue. It’s never a boring routine - she’s fun to work out with, I’ve learned a lot about ways to strengthen my body, and the time flies. Working out with a trainer is the only way I keep consistent and see results. After developing some bad habits and middle-aged health issues, I knew it was time to find a trainer again. Cornelia is an exceptional personal trainer. I am in my late 60’s, overweight, had never participated in an exercise program and had recently been diagnosed as pre-diabetic. Cornelia started working with me on low intensity workouts that have gradually increased in difficulty. She also sent me materials about making healthier food choices. She has a wonderful method of incrementally adding difficulty to previously performed exercises. This method challenges me in each session while carefully avoiding overstressing muscles and joints. This makes the training regimen both interesting and enjoyable. I arrive back home feeling that I had a healthy workout and made progress. I recently visited with a few friends that I had not seen in a month. They commented that I had lost weight and looked pumped. What a thrill! Cornelia is not a “give me 5 more reps!” type of trainer. You will make progress and get into shape working with her, but she is just as interested in your exercise form as in your number of reps. If you are not using the correct form, she will make sure to instruct you or if necessary modify the exercise so that you maintain correct form. That is why I am making progress without any bothersome muscle aches or joint pain the day after the session. Cornelia maintains a comfortable and positive training environment. I wholeheartedly recommend her as a personal trainer!

I started working with Cornelia when I was 4 months postpartum to help with lingering hip issues and diastasis recti from pregnancy. She is extremely knowledgeable and provided appropriate training for each stage of my postpartum recovery. With my DR healed, I now work on strength training and more advanced exercises and I am healthier/more fit than I ever was prior to having a baby. Cornelia is the bomb! Not only did she steadily get my body back after the Pandemic (which did a number on my back), she's helped me build a stronger foundation for surfing. I'm a pilates instructor who loves to exercise, but Cornelia is teaching me expanded approaches to back, knee and hip strength.
