About Jerred

I’m Jerred, I'm originally from Nashville and my wife and I are so excited to now be a part of the community here in Pensacola! I have to say how grateful I am to be in a profession where I get to help people in a way that makes such a huge impact on their lives! My passion is completely centered around helping people reach their goals and learning about the deeper meaning of those goals.

My favorite client story

I was once working with someone who wanted to train 5 days a week in a group training class. Just as we were getting started, she started complaining of shoulder pain. I recommended she rest her shoulder and showed her how to modify some of the exercises. Once her shoulder healed, I showed her a couple techniques to help prevent injuring it again.
I also noticed that when she was hitting all 5 workouts in a week, she seemed exhausted, her intensity suffered and she'd miss more the following week. I recommended we pull back to 3 days a week. Pulling back a bit worked great! She showed up to her workouts with so much more energy!
Anyway, the reason this is my favorite story is because she later told me that one of the reasons she was coming to the classes was to get ready for her wedding. I felt so good knowing that a little bit of advise and encouragement gave her the tools to walk down the aisle feeling confident and amazing!

My favorite exercise

It has to be the Alternating Dumbbell Clean and Jerk. Done properly, it incorporates the 5 basic movement patterns for an awesome strength exercise and it can be done in a way the gets the heart rate up so you can get a killer cardio workout at the same time!

My training philosophy

Being fit hasn’t always come easy for me. I've experienced that feeling of frustration and failure when looking down at the scale and realizing I've "yo-yoed" again! So, I understand the difference between training that only offers short term "before and after" results and training that supports ongoing success. I also understand that the training process feels very different mentally, physically and emotionally depending on what part of the journey you're on.

Because of that, I focus on treating everyone I work with as a unique individual with unique needs. I want to get to know you, what's important to you, what you enjoy, and what motivates you! So that on top of creating an effective fitness strategy, I can also offer support and encouragement in the way that you need to feel excited to succeed!

My training experience

My experience ranges from working with youth swimming programs to coaching teams of rugby players to developing workout plans for those just looking to get in shape. And through all that, I've learned that what I'm passionate about is completely centered around helping people reach their goals and finding out what those goals mean to them on a deeper level.
