At the young age of 15, I knew fitness was in my blood. Whether it was exercising to “Bodies in Motion” in the living room or lifting with my parents at the local Navy base, I knew then that my passion for fitness was real. In 1996, I became a certified Group Exercise Instructor and then in 1998, I pursued and attained my first Personal Training certification. Over the next decade, I continued to advance my education and career in fitness, acquiring multiple certifications and attaining a Masters of Science in Exercise Science. This experience and education afforded me the opportunity of working with a diverse clientele in numerous fitness centers, as well as working with the United States Navy and training Active Duty personnel around the world.
I believe in always challenging yourself and believing that no goal is too big to attain; you just have to work for it. I knew at a young age that I was never going to be a “skinny” girl, so I took advantage of my genetics and entered the sport of Bodybuilding. Between 1998-2005, I competed in 10 shows in both AAU and NPC organizations. In 2009, I wanted to pursue a new challenge – run a full marathon. Although I was never a “runner”, I trained for and completed the Marine Corps and Paris marathons, as well as multiple half marathons. Before I knew it, I advanced to half Ironmans and, finally, the daddy of all triathlons, the full Ironman – all 140.6 miles!
After a ten year hiatus from bodybuilding and 6 months post Ironman Louisville, I became a 3x Nationally Qualified competitor and won Overall Women’s Physique in the Max Muscle Championships in Virginia. I am currently training to compete in the NPC USAs in Las Vegas, NV in July 2018.
I am excited to share my passion for fitness while enhancing the quality of life for my clients and encourage all of my clients to always “Aspire to Inspire.”
