About Brian
Years of training has taught me to listen carefully to my clients and use that information to design the best way to train them. To succeed, you have to enjoy meeting up and doing another great workout. I'm big on supporting the simple diet changes you'll need to lose more and more weight! Most of my clients see dramatic changes in strength and fat reduction in a month or two, and I've had many clients lose over 30 lbs! With the right trainer (me!), exercise combinations, food choices, and support, you can get in the best shape of your life and feel like it! Invest in yourself...message me and let's get started. I work with beginners to advanced and all kinds of clients: pre- post-rehab, seniors, parkinsons (certified Rock Steady Coach), stroke, cancer, obesity - you name it!
My favorite client story
I had an older client who trained religiously with me in Lake Forest. He was in his late 70s when one day, had a clot developed in his lung on a flight and upon landing, he was rushed to the hospital. They saved him, and on his release from the hospital the doctor said that most guys like him die due to lack of physical conditioning - so he thanked me for helping to save his life! (nice feeling!)
On the other end of the spectrum, I trained 30 lbs off of a New Trier HS kid who really wanted to get the confidence to get his first girl friend - he got both!
My favorite exercise
Plank. Fitness Boxing. HIIT Training of all kinds. Bosu and Battle Ropes, etc...
My favorite quote

My training philosophy
Adapt to each clients' needs, speed, and temperament. Always keep the training challenging, but never hard enough to injure or de-motivate. Grab opportunities to elevate the exercises to get an extra bit out of every client. If I miscount, make sure it adds a few extra sneaky reps hahaha

I just had lunch with a friend who said "Wow Dan, you've really lost weight!" I said "I've been training 3x a week and have lost 35 lbs so far!" My training with Brian has really helped me look and feel a lot better!
I recently retired and hired a trainer to focus on my health and fitness. I'm glad I did it - training sessions are challenging but fun. I'm feeling stronger and I have a lot more energy!
I realized long ago that I'm not the kind of person who wants to train "on display" at a gym! I would avoid going there (a lot), and if I did go, I would do the same routine. I felt like I was getting no where. Brian changed all that for me - he trains me at home 3x a week and it's a lot of fun because we always a new workout. He's encouraging but not pushy, and he's careful to avoid injury. I find the time goes by fast because we're chatting away (while working hard). A great trainer - highly recommended!!!
I've had a few trainers through the years, but Brian was really by far the best. He's always ready to with a full body workout, and is very flexible in terms of changing exercises if needed. He pays a lot of attention to my form (which can slip mind you) and is always positive in terms of motivating me to push forward. I love the boxing part of our session - my wife said my shoulders have never looked better! I've lost about 20 lbs so far, and I'm not stopping. Looking forward to summer!!! Highly recommended!
Brian really changed my thinking about food and fitness - he's an upbeat super knowledgeable/experienced trainer! I wasn't sure what to expect but from go he was very professional and knew how to safely work around my injury (I have a bad knee from running) and the dietary changes I needed to succeed (don't take my chocolate!). Training is super fun and interesting compared to going to random classes - Brian is totally focused on helping me meet my goals and easy to talk to as long as I keep working! I'm seeing results already...highly recommended.
Great trainer! I've been trying different things (classes, pilates, etc) and nothing worked until I got serious and started working with Brian 3x a week. A+++
