About Mark

I have the experience, education and certification to help you meet your wellness and fitness goals. My motto is "get fit in your space and your time".  I meet clients where they are both physically and geographically.  Whether in your home, a park or a gym we will work together within your schedule, get the most out of every session, and prepare you to move on independently in your fitness journey.  


Our first discussion will include an interview and resting evaluation. I will use the information gathered to design a unique personalized program to meet your needs.  The exercise program will be designed according to the equipment available whether that is a full gym, limted equipment or even no exercise equipment. Each program will feature simple, proven exercise routines that are individually tailored to meet your goals and fit in your busy schedule. 

I have a PhD in food science and enjoyed a successful 34 year career as a research scientist. One of my lifelong passions has been fitness. During my career, I also developed a love of service, teaching and mentoring. What better way to meld my skills, knowledge and interest than by helping others to move towards and meet their own wellness and fitness goals?


My favorite exercise

I emphasize functional exercise. My favorites include variations on the old classics: push-ups, pull-ups, squats and hinges.

My training philosophy

I use natural movement and motion to build strength, balance and power to help my clients prepare for any challenges that sport or life has in store.

My training experience

I have been training myself for more than 45 years. I have helped countless friends and relatives to get started on their own fitness journey. Both of my grown sons started under my instruction and are now independently working in the fitness field as well.
