About Yolanda

Native New Yorker and Indiana University graduate (B.S. Fashion Merchandising/Business Minor Kelley School of Business 2009), Yolanda is now a Bloomington, Indiana resident along with her parents. Group Exercise has always been her favorite way to stay happy, healthy & fit! A natural athlete and dancer all her life, Yolanda obtained her Group Exercise Certification in 2016 and subsequently led groups of all ages and fitness levels at Indiana University Bloomington's Campus Recreational Sports Center, Anytime Fitness, Touchstone Yoga & Massage, Wild Orchid Aerial Fitness & Dance and more. Yolanda can lead a variety of formats: Indoor Cycling, Yoga, TechnoRobix Dance Fitness, Pulse & Tone, Strength, Core, Step Aerobics, HIIT, Ballet Beginnings/Barre, Pilates, Cardio Kickboxing, Boot Camp, Total Body Conditioning, Deep and Shallow Water Exercise and is always enthusiastic to learn more. She obtained her Certified Personal Trainer accreditation in 2018 and immediately built her one-on-one clientele from attendees of her group sessions and word of mouth. She loves to share fun & positive energy with participants, increase body and lifestyle awareness, offer sincere motivation, education, inspiration and support, as well as listen to and learn from feedback. Her fitness philosophy: Sweat your heart out, laugh, have fun and be free! Keep moving & grooving, balanced with stillness, rest and reflection. Try new things, stay open and continue learning! Have structure, but don't be afraid to improvise! To stay forever young, fit & fabulous, dance!

Yolanda loves all things music, fashion and dance; a spoken-word performance artist for electronic music, Yolanda has worldwide collaborations available on all major digital music outlets under her Rabelaisian alter ego, Madam Marvelous. Yolanda is also a cyclist, second-hand shopper, volunteer, aerial student, and recreational soccer player. She has received performance training from Cesar Valentino and Craig Derry in NYC.

Yolanda is currently the resident fitness instructor and personal trainer for The Stratum at Indiana luxury apartments and is certified for LIFE through the Athletics and Fitness Association of America (AFAA) to lead Group Exercise! She has also recently added Aerial Yoga and Pole Dance instruction to her repertoire, welcoming participants of all skill levels to the wonderful world of aerial fitness!
