I used to be intimidated by the weight room, always sticking to cardio machines and running outside. I hurt my knees after a marathon In college, so I was forced to find an alternative to fitness. I started incorporating HIIT and eventually lifting. What I found was a passion, not only for getting stronger, but for caring for my overall mental and physical well being. My goal is to help my clients gain strength and confidence while supporting them in taking care of their mental and emotional health in the process. I believe fitness is an important tool that can help bring balance to our lives. I want to help you find that balance.


 


My favorite client story

I had a client who could do about one pull-up. After a couple months of training, she texted me that she was able to do SIX. I had another client tell me that she generally just felt stronger and more confident in herself. She now works out on her own and crushes it! Celebrating these successes and seeing their joy and excitement means the most to me.

DO WHAT YOU LOVE and make it a habit. I believe in finding a fitness outlet that works for YOU. If you don't find a way to enjoy it, creating a habit is difficult. If we don't create the habit, we won't continue to show up.

Kiersten is great!!! Kiersten does a great job planning each work out in order to build on my previous work out, always keeping my ultimate goals in mind. Although I had generally seen myself as someone who can focus best and work hardest when alone, Kiersten definitely pushes me harder than I've been pushing myself. Kiersten's method of motivating me during difficult routines is always encouraging and supportive, never harsh or judgmental. (Sometimes, for instance, she'll say a particular exercise is difficult even for her, which I don't really believe, but it makes me feel less self-conscious about my beginner's fitness level.) While helping me condition my body, she's always considerate of my emotional and mental states. Perhaps most importantly, during a real bonkers week in the personal and professional parts of my life, I had neglected to exercise at all. If it hadn't been for my regularly scheduled session with Kiersten, I definitely would've gone back into one of my non-exercising phases; instead, I'm ready and even excited to tackle the very next week to see how much I can improve by our next session! Financially, I kinda have to choose right now between a gym membership or a trainer. I'd always chosen the former, and I'd always do well for a month or so, but then I'd get distracted and fall out of rhythm. (And I did this over and over for years...)
