About Laura

I'm an exercise scientist and strength & conditioning specialist and my passion is to help people reach their fitness and nutrition goals by equipping them with effective workouts, educating them about exercise and nutrition, and empowering them to take initiative on their own health and fitness. I've trained a wide range of clientele, all the way from a gym newbie to collegiate athletes. No matter where you come from in your fitness journey, I want to walk alongside you and help you with each step of the way. As a competitive powerlifter, I specialize in strength training and believe that strength training should be at the cornerstone of any well-rounded exercises program. Besides strength training, I also specialize in metabolic conditioning, fat loss/muscle building, and injury management,

My favorite thing is when someone tells me that losing weight or toning up isn't the most important thing to them anymore and that they love to workout because of how much better and stronger they feel when doing the things that they love!

My training philosophy

I believe that strength training is the foundation of exercise. Without strength training, you won't be getting the most out of other training modalities (cardio, pilates/yoga, mobility, etc.) I build all of my training programs around the basis of being strong and durable.

My training experience

I've been working in the fitness industry since 2017 when I started as a bootcamp instructor in Redmond, WA. After I graduated from Seattle Pacific University with my bachelor's in exercise science in 2018, I worked for an LA Fitness as well as a sports performance gym in Factoria, WA. I started my own training business, LS Training, in February of 2019 with the intention to bring evidence-based strength and conditioning principles to the general population.
