About Roy

Roy Phillips is currently a graduate student at Tarleton State University in Stephenville, Texas. He received his is undergraduate degree in December 2016 at Texas State University in San Marcos, Texas. His degree was a Bachelor of Science in Health & Fitness Management with a minor in Business Administration.
His love for fitness and coaching began when he was a young man playing baseball and wrestling. He was a 4-year letterman at Argyle High School for baseball. From there he began taking classes in anatomy & physiology and how to design fitness programs, these really interested him and he dove headfirst in this industry. His internship at Ignite Fitnez in Austin, Texas was his first hands-on experience training clientele. This experience combined with his sports background really inspired him to work with more specifically athletes. He is currently working as a personal trainer and group exercise instructor at the Hood County YMCA. Right now he currently has his Foundations of Strength & Conditioning certification through the YMCA as well as, his LIVESTRONG at the YMCA certification. Which is a cancer survivor program. He has clients that range from 16-75 years old, so he has had an opportunity to train multiple ranges of fitness levels.
He enjoys hunting, fishing, water skiing, and spending time with family & friends. Anything that gets him outdoors is what Roy loves to do. His parents recently moved to Lake Granbury, so he is still a rookie on the wakeboard and water ski’s.
