About Kelly

Client-centered coaching and training is the name of my game. I believe that no fitness program can truly be successful without complete buy-in from the athlete, and I understand that the kind of full commitment required may take some motivating! As a Board Certified Behavior Analyst, I use my background in the science of behavior change and modification to encourage my clients to create goals and a plan that works for them. My knowledge as an Ace Certified Personal trainer allows me take these goal sand design a specific program that targets muscle imbalance and weakness to create strength, muscle growth, and power that you may never have realized you have! I always start my training with a full assessment of all strengths and weaknesses(physical, psychological, and time-constraints), and ensure my training is done in a systematic and responsive manner to prevent injury and promote adherence. I work with your current schedule and preferences to tailor a program specific to your needs, goals, and availability to train. I am extremely responsive, and quickly address questions, concerns, and struggles. When you feel overwhelmed or like giving up, that's where I step in, working with you on understanding what motivates you, what keeps you committed, and what helps you build the self-efficacy needed to accomplish your goals.
I have experience with many levels of clients, from beginner to experienced athletes. I also hold unique credentials and experience through my main line of work, which began in special education. My personal training business, Spectrum Personal Training and Coaching, caters to all athletes, on any spectrum. I have been a special olympics coach and special educator for over 15 years, and feel confident in coaching and training children and adults with special needs, and those on the Autism spectrum. As an LGBTQ triathlete I also understand navigating the world through a different lens, and knowing that my wife holding her "that's my wife!" signs at races often singles me out. If you fall on these spectrums I have described above, I am here for you and will safely guide you to your goals with empathy first-hand knowledge.

My favorite client story

My athlete went from being afraid of water her whole life, to tackling her first sprint triathlon. I could not have been prouder of her!

My favorite exercise

Modifying anything from the gym to become a home-based workout! I've gotten creative:)

My favorite quote

"It doesn't matter how slowly you go, as long as you do not stop"_Confucius

My training philosophy

Your fitness dreams are my mission. I will find a way to fold your goals into the life you currently lead, and make them easy to accomplish.

My training experience

I've been a runner since age 13, when it was cool to run in all cotton shorts and shirts. I've gone from completely novice to experienced athlete, but have never, ever, forgotten my roots or the hard work it took to get there. My favorite athlete is often the beginner, as there is so much to learn about our own inner strength, and I love seeing people surprised at just how strong their body and mind can be.
