About Jonathan

I'm a Certified Fitness Trainer through the International Sports Sciences Association (ISSA), as well as a top placing NPC Physique Class Competitor and Powerlifter. With over a decade of personal and professional experience, and a focus on results based training and diet programs, we'll take the most efficient path to reaching your goals, while developing sustainable habits that stay with you for a more healthy life and the body you want.

My training philosophy revolves around results based programs built for each individual's unique variables, and phasing these programs to include when the situation calls for it a phase for extreme results and more importantly phases that are sustainable and lead to life long changes and permanent results. My training specialties include: -Contest prep, both nutrition and training program design, for NPC Bikini, Physique, and Bodybuilding classes, as well as Powerlifting and Strongman competitors -Sustainable diets that are manageable and integrate with your lifestyle without overwhelming it. Diet programs emphasize habits that are feasible, and even enjoyable, to continue indefinitely. Other attributes of the custom diets prepared are the elimination metabolic damage, adrenal fatigue and failure, negative hormonal changes, and post diet rebounds; really what every responsibly designed diet should be but so often falls short of. -Compound closed chain movement based training programs that are truly functional, developing usable real world strength, conditioning, and functional stability, with outstanding aesthetic results (that's where the namesake "Form From Function" came from) -Weak point training is a main component of training program design. Instead of a cookie-cutter training programs, all programs address the fluctuating individual strengths and weaknesses that are constant in clients, and often change based on many factors. Whether it's muscular imbalances, leverages (torso length to limb length, etc.), or past injuries that are all but forgotten but still impacting movement, addressing these factors dramatically increase results across the board.

I have been training with Jonathan for over a year. I look forward to our work outs. He makes them fun and he always pushes me to my max. Attte same time, I never worry about get hurt or injured as he is so incredibly knowledgeable about training and recovering properly. Now if only I would follow his diet recommendations I would be all set!!!

Working with Jonathan has been a game-changer and I highly recommend working with him. For my entire life I've been what's known as a hard-gainer. I'm naturally very skinny, not an eater, and have a high metabolism. Add to that a lack of confidence in the gym and a resulting reluctance to work out and progress was [as one would expect] non-existent. I graduated high school around 115 lbs and even with weight gainers only managed to hit about 130 lbs in my late 20's. I understand that being a hard gainer may sound like a dream to some, but for me it has been a blow to my confidence. Finally ready for change, I reached out to Jonathan about training together through online coaching . We spoke about my weakness, strengths, and goals, and he listened. He knows his stuff and breaks it down for you so its understandable. And he's happy to answer questions and listen to your concerns. He asked me to input my stats in the app, Trainerize and he then set me up with MyFitnessPal. In addition, he created a custom nutrition and workout plan for me. I followed it and quickly added 15-20 lbs. When that plan grew stale he created a new plan for me. He listens to me about my strengths, weakness, and goals. He breaks things down so that I understand my plan. He uses humor to lighten what can be a difficult process. He's passionate about fitness, invested in his clients, and empathetic. Because I live in another state, I'm able to send him videos and he corrects my form from what he sees. He pushed me to get in the gym and follow his workout plan. I did and it took time to feel confident in my work at the gym and my progress. But I committed and it was well worth it. I'm still far from my goals, but I'm proud of the progress I've made [I've noticed the gains and so have many people around me] and thankful for Jonathan's help.
