About Ryan

My name is Ryan Mara, I have been into fitness since I was 12 years old (15 years) and a former collegiate ice hockey player. What got me interested into fitness and health was when I tried out for a youth football team. I was 12 years old and 160 lbs., so when I showed up to tryouts they placed me on the unlimited weight team, which consisted of all the kids who were unable to play at the normal weight for their age. That day changed my life. Since then, at only 12 years old I decided I was going to change my lifestyle. I gave up soda and still till this day have not had a sip since, I also gave up fast food. I began educating myself by reading and studying on my free time. I became obsessed with learning new workouts, trying new nutrition plans. I was learning on the go, so I made a lot of mistakes, which I have learned from.

Now at 27, I feel like I have a lot of knowledge in this industry, but am still learning. I have helped many friends and family members with their daily struggles of maintaining a healthy lifestyle. My biggest accomplishment was helping one of my closest friends. He was 24 years old, 5'10 weighing 280 pounds. After 7months of working with me, he was down to 190 lbs.

The reason I am pursuing Personal Training as a career now is because it is my true passion, my obsession. I want others to feel about fitness the way I do. I think once a person realizes the benefits of working out and that it can be fun, that it will not be something they dread doing but something they look forward to.
