About Joelle

Jo Strong offers in person personal training in Jersey City, Hoboken, and Weehawken New Jersey. We currently have one female and one male trainer to choose from at this time. We also love writing workouts and motivating clients through text and over zoom who live in other parts of the country. We enjoy helping clients of all ages, stages, interests, and specific needs. When working with individuals, we strategically combine techniques from weightlifting, CrossFit, and endurance sports to create a truly personalized and effective plan that is easy to follow and FUN. Each client is different and so is the method.

I LOVE working with Casey - I struggle at the gym with social anxiety and often get nervous that others are looking at/judging me because I’m pretty new to fitness as a concept. When I met Casey, it all melted away (mostly through sweat, haha). I can get a KILLER workout in while feeling confident - it’s changed the game for me. She keeps me motivated while also understanding my limitations, she knows the exact amount of “push” I need to get through the more difficult movements. When I do get through those movements, it feels that much better. She also went the extra mile to teach me mobility movements, my joints have never felt better. I can do an entire leg day now without aches and pains in my knees and hips! I couldn’t recommend Casey enough - I’d follow her anywhere!

My husband and I have been working out with Jo for the last 3 months and couldn’t be happier. We haven’t been in the gym regularly since 2019. She takes both of our goals into consideration and comes every week with a plan that works for both of us (at different levels). I also suffer from severe sciatica, a bad back and knee. If I show up one day and something is flaring she will make all the necessary modifications so that I can still get a work out in. Jo is INCREDIBLE! I went from never really having worked out in my life and having back issues from sitting all day to enjoying going to the gym 2-3 times a week. Having a great trainer who walks the talk is both motivational and fun. And Joelle definitely falls in that group for me. From helping me get into a regular running and body weight exercise routine to guiding me through my diet, Joelle has proved to be immensely helpful in getting me back on track with exercise and a healthy body. Probably one of the best experiences I've ever had with a fitness trainer. I got recommended to Joelle from a friend and it has been nothing short of spectacular. She was well versed with the dieting regiment she prescribed, corrected some of my form regarding weight lifting, and taught me a handful about how to optimize muscle recovery. Train with Jo for nearly 3 months. Need to leave the city for a while otherwise will stay with Jo for longer time. Super helpful, push me all the time, not only work out but also diet. Amazing trainer and swim instructor!! I started working with Jo in summer for taking swim lessons, i did not know swimming and to some extent even scared of dipping fully in the pool. From that stage, by end of the summer I have been able to swim a lap non-stop. Jo's attention to details and identifying adjustments required in each of the free-style/butterfly/back stokes were really helpful. Transitioning from swim classes at the end of summer in to personal training, we started by evaluating my level of fitness and created an appropriate program. Very happy that I continued my fitness journey with Jo and explored new style of workouts including slow resistance training. She is helping me with running/sprinting outdoors to build my stamina and fix my form. She making each session interesting and challenging at the same time. I am so glad i found her and strongly recommend her!!!
