VerifiedAbout Nas
Hello, I'm Nas and have been a part of the fitness industry for the past 5 years. I have worked in several different settings including community centers/YMCA, private studios, commercial gyms and Group Fitness gyms. I earned my Bachelor’s Degree in Exercise Science from Montclair State University in 2017. From there I began working in fitness related fields until I became a certified personal trainer with the American College of Sports Medicine. Health and Wellness is what gets me out of the bed in the morning. I am passionate about improving lives of my clients through my guidance and dedication to their goals. Nothing excites me more than seeing clients reach new heights. I specialize in training clients who are looking to lose weight, build muscle, get stronger or just to stay active.
My favorite client story
I have so many different stories to choose from, but one of my favorite stories is from my time working in King of Prussia at a community center. I had been training an older couple who were both 71 and 76. The wife was 76 and was unable to squat comfortably when we began. After a few weeks of training she was able to comfortably squat and I could see the joy she got from being able to move her body in the way she had in the past.
My favorite exercise
I have always been big on calisthenics. I love Pullups. I grew up with a pullup bar in my bedroom and before I ever started lifting weights I did pullups all day.
My favorite quote
"Kill your clone" "Try to be 1% better than yesterday". The idea behind "Kill your clone" is to always be improving. Your past self is your clone and you're trying to always be better than your past self. Sometimes we can get caught up in where everyone else in their path. But if we focus strictly on ourselves and where we are going and how we're improving we'll be able to stay focused on our own goals.
My training philosophy
You can not approach clients with a one size fits all approach. Everybody is different and everybody's body is different. We all have different strengths and weaknesses. Different personalities, likes and dislikes. So it's important to figure out what works best for each person.
My training experience
I have experience training clients from all different walks of life and I enjoy helping anyone reach their goals. I currently personal train clients and teach group fitness classes on my and at a private studio in Manayunk called Never Give Up Training. I also teach group fitness classes currently at F45 in Bryn Mawr, PA. In the past, I have worked for the YMCA in North Philadelphia, Simplex Health in Upper Merion, King of Prussia, PA, and other commercial gyms.
