My favorite client story

I had a 16 yr old male who I played ball with from time to time. He was very advanced for his age so I took interest in him and decided to work with him outside of our regular hoop sessions. He was a pretty tall guy but of small stature so I asked if he felt putting on weight would help with his game. He said he would like to but because he plays so much ball, he can't really retain his weight. So instead of trying to gain a bunch of new muscle, we just converted the fat on him into muscle and then added a protein supplement to help with gains. We worked out 3 days a week during the summer and he was able to put on 14 lbs. of muscle in 3 months and he's now ready to play ball as a high school junior. He thanked me for going out my way when I didn't have to and that putting on the extra weight made a huge difference in his game but with the way we slowly increased his weight, he didn't lose any of his speed or explosiveness which is what he wanted so I think he was one satisfied individual

My favorite exercise

Bosu Ball squats. I'm a big fan of core exercises and this particular exercise works almost the whole body depending on whether you choose to just use body weight or added weight for an additional challenge
