About Megan
We all have the capacity for change and achieving what we most desire, whether for our health and wellbeing, our fitness routine, or in life. It's about the daily actions, support, and guidance to get there.
As a trainer, I am passionate about helping each of my clients reach their goals and find the athlete within themselves, regardless of age, ability, or any other metric. Whether you are looking to feel better, get stronger or run your first 5k, I am here to support you along the way. In our sessions, you can expect an individualized workout program designed to suit your fitness goals, needs and preferences.
My goal as your trainer is to empower you with the knowledge and tools to make long-lasting changes in your life far beyond the gym. Curious to learn more? Reach out and let's connect!
My favorite exercise
I'd have to say any pull-up variation or renegade rows are my favorite two exercises. These two exercises activate muscles we often neglect in our daily lives such as those in our abs and back, while improving posture. Both are tough, but most definitely rewarding!
My favorite quote
"Great things are accomplished by a series of small things done together." It's what we do, day in and day out, that determines how successful we are in the long run. Every success story begins with getting the little things right: nutrition, sleep, stress management and exercise. Work on getting all of the little things right daily and you'll be amazed at the big changes over time!
My training philosophy
We are all working to become better every day and this is what fitness is really about - creating sustainable habits that will better shape your bodies and our lives. I emphasize an effective and individualized training method designed to suit your fitness goals, nutritional needs and exercise preferences. This includes a customized program specific to you, which will empower you with the knowledge and tools to make lasting changes.
My training experience
From at-home training and virtual sessions to online programs strength training, run coaching, and more, I have trained a variety of incredible clients -- from those who want to get stronger, run faster, or simply feel better.

This was my first experience with a personal trainer, and it was as challenging and exciting as I thought it would be. I started my fitness journey at the beginning of the year, like many of us do every year, and Megan provided the accountability and expertise to help me persevere through the “honeymoon phase” of the fitness journey. What I liked most was that she asked questions about my goals and immediately incorporated it into our sessions. She provided me basic workout routines to do on my own, and then showed me a variety of new exercises during our sessions together to keep me from getting bored. Because of Megan’s encouragement, I was able to keep a personal commitment to myself to prioritize fitness even during a very busy semester in graduate school. And the results were worth the effort: I lost 3.9% body fat, gained 6.4 pound of fat free weight while also losing overall body weight. I also went from doing 1 full pushup to 18 pushups (and can easily pick friends up and give them piggy back rides). I feel stronger, happier, and healthier than I have in years thanks to the support Megan provided during the past few months.
Upon referral by our doctor, I found this site, then Megan Flannigan, who I signed my husband up with. He is pre back surgery, needed to gain strength, flexibility and lose some weight. We have training equipment at home; Megan made excellent use of it and the space. Having been reluctant before Megan’s first visit, he was motivated and excited at the end of his first session with her. Because the surgery is near, he had just four sessions this time. Both he and Megan are pleased with the results. She is knowledgeable, highly capable of interacting with her client, easily adjusts to the space available for training, communicates throughout the sessions, provides very good directions for work inbetween her visits, is extremely personable and professional. I plan on working with Megan as soon as the surgery is complete and we have the availability. We both highly recommend Megan Flanagan. Note: my husband is a former college coach, football and basketball, and was a team trainer. He felt very comfortable working with Megan.
