About Ryan

My name is Ryan Shankle. I am the founder of Atlas Strength and Endurance. My journey to creating Atlas Strength and Endurance began with a simple idea- a desire to have a positive impact on the people around me.


 


Some people struggle for a good portion of their lives to find a suitable career for their unique combination of talents, skills, and personalities traits. Others know their fit in the world from the beginning. I am one of the lucky few.


 


 Growing up, I loved participating in sports- swimming, running, soccer. I stayed active. Sports gave me an outlet that fostered confidence. As I grew older and my participation continued, it naturally developed into me teaching and training others on the team that were younger or new. I realized that I had an innate ability to teach, motivate, and encourage.

I looked at applying these characteristics to other fields, but I knew my passion was athletics and health. I jumped headfirst into the world of personal training. I now have a wealth of knowledge to supplement the encouraging spirit that I cultivated in youth sports.  As of August 2018, I am an ACE certified personal trainer.

 I began Atlas Strength and Endurance because I learned how to hold up my world. I found confidence, strength, and independence through athletics, which has allowed me to withstand anything that life has thrown my way. I want my clients to find that inner strength within themselves. Exercise should be one component to taking control of and holding up your life.

My favorite client story has to be Amanda. She came to me unable to lose weight and after about a month of working with me we were able to lose 5 lbs. Now she has lost 10 lbs and has gained a bunch of muscle
