You can expect a very relaxed atmosphere accompanied with an intense workout. I've been in your shoes before, I was 300 pounds in the 4th grade, I got up to 250 pounds my freshman year in college, I know the struggles you've been through or are going through now. It's because of these struggles that I am a trainer today. When we 1st sit down, I'll give you nutrition counseling, answer any questions or myths you may have and give you several tips and tricks as to keeping your diet healthy and varied. I say tricks because I know how boring the typical "healthy" diet can be and these "tricks" keep your diet healthful, exciting, and keeps you on track from a nutritional standpoint. With me, we can find that "golden egg" that motivating factor that drives you and keeps you driven to meet and exceed your goals. It doesn't matter how much I get after you, if we haven't identified why you're here and what moves you, you won't push yourself to the limit (consciously or unconsciously)With that being said, I don't yell, scream, get in your face, etc., I keep things relaxed. For the vast majority of us, when we're stepping out of our comfort zone, taking that 1st step towards a healthy lifestyle, the last thing we want is someone yelling at us, maybe that's just me. However, just because I don't yell, doesn't mean you aren't going to be pushed. I've found through my clients that by not yelling and screaming, I gain their respect, your respect, and that garners the additional motivation not to disappoint. With all that being said, I've been in your shoes, seen first hand your problems and solved them myself and now I'm here to show you how to solve it too.
My favorite client story
I had a client that came to me with a surgically repaired hip, knee issues, and overweight. They never once questioned my methods, got upset when he couldn't fully complete something or encountered any other set back, they looked to me for guidance and ways to blow through these minor setbacks. He bought right in to my nutritional tips and advice and never looked back. Within a month he was running miles during our training sessions (on soft ground) and after a little over a month with me he had lost 20 pounds and 5% body fat. That is why I do what I do, for that moment when my client can step back and see what it is they've accomplished and be proud of the hard work they've put in
My training experience
I am currently employed by Aerofit on Villa Maria. I have trained a wide variety of clients since I began training 4 years ago ranging from a 13 year old trying to get in shape for football season to senior citizens at a retirement community all the way to training 2 collegiate athletes (Softball & Volleyball). I've ran countless boot camps and group fitness classes all with varying ranges of physical fitness.
