My belief is that most goals are attainable with proper preparation and hard work. I chose to practice personal training because I take great joy in helping facilitate the goals and well being of others. My training style is both entertaining and engaging. The clients I like to work with are passionate about their pursuits no matter how difficult they may seem. It is my belief that most goals are attainable, with proper programming and effort. I've worked at several Gyms including NYSC, NYHRC, Equinox, Church Street Boxing Gym and the United States Federal LIFE Center. I’ve also had the privilege of training NYC firefighters and a number of post rehabilitation clients looking to get back to where they were prior to injury.
Each session is individualized. However, there are some general guidelines. Before our first training session,we perform a thorough assesment and gauge strength, range of motion and conditioning. We review limitations, internal and external stressors that may affect training and establish short and long term goals. This is done prior to our programming. We start with a dynamic warm up and if need be some additional facilitated stretching. Next, we perform our most complex movement or the most difficult lift. We allow for time in between to fully recover and review the technical aspects of the movement/lift. Next, we perform accessory movements that help facilitate the primary lift/movement. If the client is up to it. I like to end with some high intensity cardio as a finisher. Afterwards, I manually stretch the client. I follow up with protocls for active recovery and if necessary programming they can do on their own.
My favorite client story
I had a client in her mid 60's, who didn’t have much muscle mass or strength, but was out trying to offset osteoporosis. Not only did she offset ostreoporosis she ended up gaining a significant amount of muscle and deadlifting her bodyweight!
My favorite exercise
My favorite exercise is the deadlift. In absence of some kind of mechanical limitation, and with proper instruction, anyone can do it. This exercise has great practical applications across a wide spectrum of people. I’m also a huge fan of HIIT (High Intensity Interval Training) like tabata protocols. HIIT provides a greater effect than traditional cardio in a fraction of the time, preserves muscle mass and is easier on your joints.
My favorite quote
It always seems impossible until it’s done.
My training philosophy
Set a goal. Test. Train hard. Retest. Impress yourself. Repeat.
My training experience
I have over 20 years personal training, working with a wide array of clients including occupational athletes (military, firefighters, law enforcement) , competitive athletes (runners, cyclists, boxers) as well as weekend warriors and post rehabilitation clients looking to take charge of their health. I am also a licensed massage therapist which gives me a unique perspective with regards to the body and movement.

Who I Especially Like Working With
I began working with Adrian for personal training sessions with the goal to lose weight. Not only have I seen improvements in my body type, but he increased my strength potential and taught me new ways to continue a healthier lifestyle. In addition to strength and weight training Adrian improved my range of motion and reduced pain in my lower back and calf muscles using a combination of massage, cupping, kinesio tape and traditional massage techniques.
I've been training with Adrian for a while now and I can honestly say he changed my life. From rehabilitating my neck and lower back, and having him weight train me CORRECTLY, I feel stronger and better than ever. Another plus is the massage therapy and cupping he provides if I need after our workouts or if I'm really sore/tight after a long day's work. I was hesitant at first about the cupping, but after a thorough explanation and just one session I'm totally glad he provided the service. I'm VERY happy with my carefully thought out programming which he provides and would recommend him to anyone.
I've done several sessions with Adrian, and I can already feel a difference in how I feel. My main goal with hiring a personal trainer was to learn how to use the machinery in my gym on my own, and Adrian has been a great guide as to how I should navigate my workout. He's calm, easygoing, and knowledgeable. I look forward to future sessions with him.
I had a great workout with Adrian. He listened to me and designed a workout that met my needs. During the workout he offered the right tips to keep my form perfect and to maximize my workout. Highly recommend
My wife had her first workout session with Adrian. She is extremely pleased with how easy going and patient Adrian was during her session. As promised, Adrian emailed her a complete workout routine which was easy to understand and she has been following this schedule daily. We plan to book him again... I strongly recommend!!!
My Experience working with Adrian Caban has been great. Adrian's workouts are unique and keep me interested throughout my workouts. Also Adrian is patient and willing to answer any and all questions regarding stretching, cardio and strength training. Would highly recommend him to anyone who is interested.
Adrian has been training my Son and myself. It has been a great experience working with a personal trainer that is knowledgeable and professional and has gone above and beyond to help and teach us both. Because of him we will reach the goals and results we want. I recommend him highly.
