My name is Amy, I am a certified fitness and lifestyle coach. I have learned under some of the greatest athletes and doctors in the industry in Manhattan NY. I have clients of all backgrounds. I focus on not only fitness, but also nutrition and lifestyle. When you work with me you are getting a fully encompassed coach that will get you to your goals in every aspect of your life. We will talk proper nutrition, proper sleep schedule, out of session workouts/homework to keep you on task. I work with clients who are looking to lose weight, gain weight, gain lean muscle, recovery from injuries, or want to simply get their mobility back in order to play with their grandkids without pain. I focus on core fundamentals when I work with each new client. I will assess your movement through a functional movement screening. This will help me better understand your ranges of mobility in your ankles, shoulder, T-spine, etc. I believe we workout to live a stronger and longer life. I build a strong foundation from the start that will last you a lifetime and avoid any serious injuries as we progress to new challenging movements.
My background prior to fitness was rooted in psychology, more specifically, behavioral psychology. When I came to fitness, my number one motivation was to show each client who stepped in front of me that there is no mental or physical barrier when it comes to being happy and reaching your goals. Fitness is not just important for the obvious reasons, to look fit or even to lower your blood pressure, but to also give your brain the stress relief it requires. Exercise is not only good for the physical body, but for the mental as well. I always say, if you're feeling down or depressed or just extremely stressed/anxious, doing a few sessions will help relieve those thoughts and set you forth with a much more clear mindset going into your daily life.
Since covid-19 hit, I had left NYC and continued my training virtually. As my clients found their new routines taking place in their basements or kitchen floor, we managed to continue our progress with just the use of a couple resistance bands and dumbbells. Don't underestimate a high intensity session, 5lb dumbbells can easily feel like 100 if you know how to program!

I will work right along side you to pick you up on your low motivation days, keep you on schedule and accountable to improving your health, and to also be your friend as you navigate into this new journey.
