Hi...I've been a personal trainer for 20 years. I adore my work! I must since I was formerly a social worker and transitioned to being a trainer. Obviously I enjoy helping others and I receive personal satisfaction when my clients are working towards or achieved their fitness goals. I stress correct form. I'm very patient, dedicated, motivational and easy to work with. I encourage asking questions. I believe it's critical to feel comfortable with your trainer and have a good rapport. I like to keep my clients happy and involved so I often change workout routines and exercises. I work with body bars, TRX, dumbbells, tubing, bands, kettle balls, medicine balls, and stability balls.
My sessions are an hour long. The last 10 minutes are reserved for stretching which helps keep you supple and flexible. You control the pace of the session! I push when I feel you can handle it. I have worked with both genders and ages ranging from 25-87 years of age.
Initially I provide a free telephone consultation to get a medical background, exercise history and fitness goals. This is to provide you with a safe and customized program. I want to ensure that your training session is optimal for your goals.

Barbara is patient and prodding in just the right measure, which makes her a particularly good trainer for older people or couch potatoes who haven't worked out in a long time.
I've been working with Barbara for over a month and find her absolutely exceptional in every way. She's positive and supportive; she is not only professional, but also incredibly knowledgable about exercises, movement and anatomy. My workouts are varied and sensitive to injuries to my shoulders. I'm a "mature" woman and find her techniques butt-kicking but mindful of my age and all-around fitness (which has been improving weekly!) She challenges me and is motivational, devising exercises that seem designed to push me past my naturally lazy inclinations- in a fun but firm way. I've already noticed the benefits of our sessions (flatter stomach, more toned arms). I've trained with others (including several folks at Equinox), but Barbara definitely is a cut above. If you're serious about getting into shape, better call Barbara.
Barbara is outstanding. She tailors the workout to my specific needs. I have a really good workout every week when she comes, and I'm able to repeat many of the exercises I learn from her during my daily workouts. I highly recommend Barbara for anyone who is looking for an excellent trainer.
