Hi guys, my name is Chris Finn. I am from Sydney, Australia and I have been living in New York City for the past 3 years. I lead an active lifestyle when I was young, always playing Rugby, swimming at the beach or just getting up to mischief. As a kid, I definitely took fitness for granted and just assumed that I'd always feel that fit and energetic.
I joined to Australian Army at the age of 17 where I served for 10 years, the first 5 of which I was a paratrooper. In 2007 I had a bad landing on a jump and smashed my left knee to pieces. As soon as my ability to run around all day and play sports was taken away, the fact that at the time I had horrible eating and drinking habits. When that caught up with me the weight rapidly came on.
The military team of physical therapists and sports rehab personnel that I worked with changed my life. They were great with me, and through them, my thirst for knowledge about nutrition and exercise developed. The more I learned and put into practice the better my results were and I worked my way back to feeling happy with both how I looked, and how I felt. By putting in a lot of hard work, both in and out of the gym, I went from - having a surgeon tell me that even with surgery on my knee, it was unlikely that I would ever be able to do even basic things, like run, hike, or squat without pain - to successfully passing the selection process and being accepted into Australian Special Forces.
In SF, fitness was taken very seriously. It could literally make the difference between life and death on the battlefield, and as such we were lucky enough to have some of the best Physical Training Instructors in the country working with us on our own fitness, as well as conduct theory lessons on all things exercise and nutrition. Under their guidance I studied for and gained my Cert 3 in fitness from ACSF and was appointed as the Combat Fitness Leader for my team whilst deployed in Afghanistan.
When I parted ways with the military, I knew I wanted to pay forward what was done for me. Had I have not had such a smart and motivated team around me during my rehab, my life may have taken a drastically different path.
Now I am fortunate enough to find myself in a position where I can help people change the outcome of their lives for the better. I get a great deal of satisfaction from helping my clients meet, then exceed their goals. I love seeing their goals change as they start mastering things they once thought were impossible.
The joy I get from this job motivates me to continuously learn and keep up with a rapidly changing industry. The knowledge and skills I have picked up, as well as my ability to get the most out of my clients, has made me stand out from the crowd in a city seemingly full of trainers and other fitness professionals.
Putting the extra effort into my own learning, the countless hours of private study, completing courses and becoming qualified and competent in many different fitness styles allows me to adapt my style to suit the needs and goals of the client. Eventually, enough of my people had made such significant changes in their lives that people couldn’t help but notice. The rapidly spreading good word provided me the opportunity to be called upon multiple times as a fitness expert for various large online fitness websites and magazines, to talk on a radio show for Sirius XM and provide their listeners with advice on health and fitness, as well as appear on the TODAY SHOW with Hoda and Kathy Lee for a live fitness segment.
I have worked with all types of people with a wide range of start points and wildly different desired outcomes. I work with many professional athletes, celebrities, Broadway stars, self-employed business owners etc. When you are the type of person who cannot afford to get injured, you need to make sure the advice you are given is correct and specifically tailored to you. I have the knowledge and experience you need.
If you want to achieve and then smash your goals in a safe, fun and efficient manner, let’s set up a meeting and start working on a plan to get you to being the healthiest and fittest version of yourself possible.

Chris is one of the most talented people I’ve worked with, as a trainer, but moreover as a person who is so skilled at his job that he can inspire greatness in someone even if they don’t come in the size or shape of a supermodel. He pushes me without pressuring me, to the point where my frustration finally gives way to momentum and momentum gives way to success, enabling me to break through my physical barriers but more importantly, my mental. I can’t thank him enough for helping me respect the power of my body in spite of its imperfections. I love every minute of hating him!
