Kate is an MA candidate at Teachers College, Columbia University studying Applied Exercise Physiology, with a focus in diabetes. She has advanced knowledge and practical experience educating and training individuals living with type 1, type 2 and gestational diabetes, as well as with individuals at risk for developing type 2 diabetes in the future. Kate is also currently involved as a research assistant at the Mt. Sinai department of clinical research in endocrinology.
She doubles as a freelance fitness professional and former Equinox Tier III trainer. Along the way she has picked up an ACE Orthopedic Exercise cert, TRX Suspension Training, ViPR, Kettlebells Lvl 1, the Functional Movement Screen (FMS) and Pre/Post Natal certifications. Kate is also NCSF Certified in Personal Training.
Outside the gym, Kate is a professional modern dancer. With a 2 year mentorship in pilates, yoga practice, 15 years of technical dance training, anatomy and kinesiology, Kate has a clear, personal knowledge bank and practical application to her training. She offers personalized training based in strength, biomechanics, stability and function. And sweat.
