I leave my workouts with Michael feeling like I accomplished something important for myself, every single time. It's amazing how much information he has about the anatomy, but more importantly, he understands about my physical limitations and strengths and pushes me in the right way so that my cardio and strength improves without injuries and pain. I'm a member of Crossfit NYC and take 3 classes plus 1 session per week. Michael keeps better track of my workouts and results than I do and each one on one session is tailored to how I did that week and how I'm feeling. I can say without hesitation that I'm in better shape now than I've been in a long time.
I have worked out with Michael for years and he makes sure that the hours we spend together in the gym are some of the best of my life. Michael writes awesome workouts that are just what I need each day to feel great and work hard, and he always makes me laugh. I recommend Michael if you need to get your ass kicked, want to be lead by a caring, deeply passionate man, or just wanna try something new with a good looking dude. Basically, I'd recommend Michael to anyone!
I've been training with Michael for almost two years and I can't say enough positive things about what a difference he has made in my life. I have a background in teaching, so I'm extremely critical of teachers, and Michael is a natural. A few highlights: -Mastery of subject: Michael has a deep understanding of the body both from his own physical capabilities as an athlete and a comprehensive knowledge of anatomy and physiology. From lifting heavy to gymnastics and stretching, he always provides multiple ways to learn and improve. -Custom workouts: Michael quickly learned my strengths and weaknesses and has been able to guide me in setting goals that I can achieve in the short and long term. I'm stronger and leaner than I've ever been. -Nutritional guidance: From basic healthy eating advice to specific micro-nutrient discussion, I always feel comfortable talking to Michael about my diet routine (and sometimes lack thereof). -Fun, kind and firm: Let's face it, I wouldn't spend my precious money and time with a trainer who wasn't also a pleasure to be around! Michael is highly motivating, holds me accountable, and has given me a wealth of fitness skills while making every workout fun.
Michael is amazing! I have seen an incredible improvement in my strength, mobility and endurance since starting to work with him. Michael is thorough - our workouts are packed, carefully structured against my goals and never fail to leave me sore and feeling stronger. An endurance athlete and runner, I've had a nagging tendinitis injury that no amount of PT or rest has been able to improve. Michael has helped me focus on building strength in an exceptionally precise way, so that for the first time in two years I'm back to running full time! He has a deep knowledge of anatomy, muscle conditioning and training that helps augment all of his training. I've done crossfit, equinox strength classes and other types of strength training for years but never saw results as significant and fast as I have with him. Michael also happens to be incredibly fun to train with! I feel quite lucky to have found him and couldn't say enough good things about training with him!
I only had a few sessions with Michael before I had to move unexpectedly, but he was the best! I am an absolute beginner - didn’t even have gym classes in school - but Michael took the time to help me understand the science of my body, and the basics of exercising. He was very respectful of my stamina (or lack of it lol), and was extremely positive and encouraging each session. Even though it was scary to work out for the first time, Michael guided me beyond my comfort zone, and helped me get fit! I am grateful for the sessions we had, and would definitely book again if I come back to NY.
Michael Bultman is a predator and pathological liar and should not be in a position of any authority whatsoever. I am only one of a handful of people who have learned we have all been harassed by him. He seems to be able to continue to conduct personal training without any consequence. While he's a talented trainer if/when he's actually trying, he is consistently inappropriate and manipulative, and is an expert in gaslighting, being secretive, and dodging accountability.
