Mike has been training for 9 years, and 6 years in New York City. He has his Master's Degree in Nutrition and Exercise Sciences from Queens College. He worked 3 years in a private medical practice as an Exercise Physiologist and Health Coach. In this practice, Mike learned how to interpret blood biomarkers and hormone panels to help patients achieve a higher health status.
Mike has also just started his own health consulting company in 2016 that offers nutrition counseling, supplemental advice, personal training, and consulting physicians in NYC. His current clientele would describe him as a laid back, analytical, and thoughtful person. He specializes in functional training, nutrition, and rehabilitative exercise. He will develop personalized plans based off objective and subjective data.
Mike is willing to train anyone who comes in with a positive attitude and has a willingness to learn and improve. Educating his client's on their day to day health choices is how they will continue to progress over time is the most vital aspect of his training style.
My favorite client story
I have a client that was an avid biker, until he got side swiped by a cab in the city. He had injuries to both legs and was unable to perform physical activity for multiple months. When we started working together we worked on general strength and mobility. I taught him how to deadlift and incorporate other power movements into his training routine. He is now a casual biker, but raves about how his improved lower body strength has helped him in his rides.
He is more than thankful, and now insists on training 2-3 days a week. His main focus at this point is quality of life and injury prevention. Improving quality of life means something different for everyone, and assisting someone achieve a full life is what this is all about.
