About Diego

My passion for health and fitness came after watching multiple family members live with chronic illnesses that could have been prevented, delayed, or mitigated. At the age of 18 I was 5’11”, 130 lbs, and with a body fat percentile below 6%; due to hours of sitting on my computer, my shoulders had started to round, and I could see the signs of future health issues. I began to exercise and after 2 1/2 years of dedication, my posture improved and I was able to increase my weight to 150 lbs while maintaining relatively low body fat.

The more I dove into the fitness world, the more I wanted to help others learn how to exercise. Within 3 years, I was certified by NASM as a CPT and started to train at the Jewish Community Center. During my 5 years there, I was able to gain experience training a variety of populations, ranging from high school students wanting to learn how to exercise effectively, to cancer patients just released from physical therapy, and everything in between. My favorite client story comes from a long-term client in his early 70s who had been training with me for years but suffered a stroke while on a cruise. Luckily, thanks to his desire to exercise with me for an hour three times a week, his doctor explained that the severity of his stroke was lessened. Once he was released from physical therapy, we began to exercise again and six months later he fully recovered.

My philosophy as a trainer is to use functional and corrective training to help my clients achieve their fitness goals and to live a healthier lifestyle. I’m also a firm believer that listening to the client is one of the main factors in helping them achieve their goals. You as the client know yourself better than anyone else, which means you know what your body needs more than anyone else.
