My career as a personal trainer begins and ends with helping my clients achieve both their needs and desires. My theory of exercise and wellness is not traditional, and stems from my time in both a gym and private exercise therapy studios to fuse together a well rounded workout on specialized custom built equipment in a cozy enviroment, where each person finds themselves at home. I like to run a one stop shop, with access to my therapeutic and preventative exercise regimen, as well as personal training with a martial arts and performance expert former marine , plus options to include both aerial work with a professional dancer and circus performer, bodywork including physical therapy for the spine ans acupuncture, and a nutrition advice from a certified holistic professional.
Core and Balance Strength Training Weight Loss Flexibility and Mobility Muscular Definition Posture Functional Training Sports Performance Training Pilates Yoga Cardiovascular Conditioning Cross Training Injury Prevention Stress Reduction Wellness Corrective Exercise Post-rehab Pre/post-natal Rehab Seniors Youth NASM Certified Personal Trainer NASM Fitness Nutrition Specialist NASM Weight Loss Specialist CPR/AED Biokinetics Specialist Certified Post-rehab Specialist

I’ve been an athlete since I can remember. When I was 3 years old my parents signed me up for gymnastics class so I would stop climbing and flipping off furniture...or at least learn how to land while doing so. When I was 4 years old I begged them to sign me up for soccer in the Fall because the Spring season couldn’t come fast enough. Sports were my first love of life and continue to be one of my greatest passions. Soccer and lacrosse got me lifting heavy in the gym and turned into muay thai/boxing after college. In 2013 when I raced my first triathlon (and first race for that matter) I could not comprehend how I had lived my life up until this point without endurance sports. I immediately got a team, got a coach, got a nickname (“Phoenix” because every race I do has record breaking heat), and began living the triath-life. Then in late 2015, coming off my strongest triathlon season, I landed wrong with my kickboxing training partner and blew out my ACL. I felt like I lost years of hard work in a matter of seconds. In the following year I was forced to make a post-surgical comeback from what felt like negative-zero. I lived in PT. Then I lived in the gym. Each and every day I worked to get stronger. It was during this time of frustration, determination, and self-reflection I realized I didn’t just want to get back to being the athlete I was, but I wanted to teach others how to as well. I didn’t just want to compete for myself any more, but also empower the athletes around me.

I truly believe that a superhero is a state of mind….anyone is capable of great things, you just have to put the work in.
Hello! My name is Alyssa Accardo. I am a certifed personal trainer and hold my national certificate through ACE. I am a former Equinox Tier 3+ trainer. I have been training indpendently for 3 years. I have been through Equinox's in depth curriculum and am certified through Precision Nutrition. I specialize in weight training, nutrition coaching and corrective exercises. I find myself working with a wide variety of clients. I also am certified in training pregnant and postpartum clients. A typical session for me starts with a warm up, addressing any movement pattern issues, strength training portion and then I usually finish off with a METCON circuit. METCON is a high intensity aerobic and strength based circuit. I use it as a metabolic finisher to jump start your metabolism and keep you burning calories well after our session. This is great for someone interested in losing body fat. I also take the time to talk about specific nutrition habits to work on. A few years ago my dad suffered from a pretty serious heart attack. I wanted to help him recover and in the process started learning more about exercise and health. I want to help more people like my dad.
Nutrition Strength Training Weight Loss Flexibility and Mobility Muscular Definition Muscle Gain Functional Training CrossFit Beginners Brides-to-be Pre/post-natal Women Diastasis Recti Eating Disorders Golfers Elbow High Blood Pressure High Cholesterol Hip Pain/Issues Joint Pain Pregnancy Shoulder Issues Weddings Precision Nutrition Level 1 Pregnancy & postpartum ACE Certified Personal Trainer Bachelor of Visual Arts

I’m a Certified Personal Trainer (through the National Academy of Sports Medicine) who comes to strength training by way of a career in libraries. After numerous attempts at finding a fitness routine that felt right, I got into strength training and found something that fit. I see strength training as a way to both physically and mentally feel stronger; through strength training, I believe that individuals can lead a fuller, stronger, and more confident life.

Interested in working with beginners and long-time lifters, I believe that strength training is for everyone. Whether you’re looking to perfect your squat, aiming to establish a consistent routine, or just hoping to make it up and down the subway stairs with a little less achiness, strength training can help. I train with compassion and patience, and would be thrilled to help you achieve your strength and movement goals!
